I tried the new Base App and it's cool. Base App is a huge shift from a wallet-first approach to prioritizing a social profile, with wallet integration. The moment you sign in, it asks you to create or connect a social account, powered by Farcaster. Social feed, and Farcaster's mini Apps dominate the main page. The vision is that "anyone with an internet connection should be able to participate in the same economy." Yet, unlike Elon's X or current Web2 platforms, earning from content creation is largely restricted to creators with massive followings and is further limited by country-specific legal frameworks. In any case, for those who are active on Farcaster, Base App will feel like a wrapper on FC. It’s a win - win as social networks get better the more people use it. If you're not familiar with FC, you'll be amazed by the composability of it: multiple mini-Apps to play games, tip creators, gamble, trade, etc. (Pls build be a mini app for Hyperliquid perp integration like Phantom). The wallet itself is simple. Basic. Good.
