🇪🇸🇮🇸 A rare total solar eclipse is hitting parts of Europe today, with millions getting a chance to watch the sky go dark. Iceland and northern Spain are among the best spots, with totality lasting around 2 minutes. Spain gets an especially wild view because the eclipse happens right before sunset, turning the sun into a thin crescent as it drops below the horizon. Much of the rest of Europe, Canada, the northern U.S. and northwestern Africa will still get a partial eclipse. According to NASA, a lunar eclipse occurred today exactly 1,993 years ago, on a Friday, which many believe was the day of the crucifixion of Jesus. ( April 3, 33AD) This year, Easter falls on the same Sunday as in the year 33, if that was really the date of the resurrection. This is an interesting coincidence.
