It was but a matter of time. Android should follow suit soon, and as usual, Apple will get on board sometime in H2 of 2027, with some fancy name like "Apples"

AI-generated basic personal apps is not news. You can do it now with just about any LLM - generate HTML ui and add to your homescreen as shortcut. More complex apps with multi-user support generated by non-technical users is still beyond what’s possible with current AI technology.

Feels like a bait and switch. The platform led me to believe that I could start creating the app only to be told I’ll be joining a waitlist AFTER I already gave them my prompt I’d be careful about what ideas you input on this platform.

If this works at scale, it quietly rewrites how software is made. Nothing Playground might be cooking something big 👀

in fact, if i were essential (and i'm definitely not), i'd start shipping this feature to work on every android smartphone and own that space for years-or-beyond to come

Interesting release but it remains to be seen whether it can actually output a full usable app with complex flows

Self-assembling apps collapse the distance between intent and software. UX becomes the moat when creation is democratized

@wabi early movers in the game. interesting play though - OS moving into the application ecosystem. if it works, hardware might start to get monetised more via software (and attention) in future?
