Good intro to Karma. But not sure you answered the questions you posed. Why do bad things happen to good people? A terrorist gets and angry and commits heinous acts based on his mental impressions, but how to explain why good people are harmed by the terrorist’s actions?

Karma is in thoughts...one person self conscious doing generally good things occasionally does bad things gets impacted by remembering it and suffer. Bad person not so self conscious does all bad things still don't realize he has done bad and doesn't suffer by thought.

You say exactly what rationalists or psychologists believe What you repeatedly do is what changes you, and the person you become influences what you do next. Basically there are no influences of past birth or future life. Everything you do in this life, influences who you become and what you suffer in this lifetime. I hope I have analyzed this right.

Small doubt. Does human have real power to perform any karma? Aren't all humans simply puppets whose actions, lifespan, number of births of a soul is already pre determined as part of this shrishti? E.g. raavan and kumbhkaran were jay and vijaya in past. On insulting Sanat Kumars, lord Vishnu asked them to face 7 yrs separation from him as Vishnu's bhakt on earth or 3 lives where they will perform all evil and would be killed by lord Vishnu himself. Hence whatever raavna and kumbhkaran did, wasn't all of those actions/karmas in line with what was pre decided ? If raavan would not have done sita kidnapping, then lord Vishnu would have not killed him and lord Vishnu's words would have failed, which cannot happen. As a result raavan did all bad things because he was destined to be killed by lord Vishnu. Please share your insightful thoughts.
