creating prototypes around string character displacement - ngl it's not as easy as it looks, especially in origami. but it's a technique i've really loved playing with, and it can be used across multiple use cases.

Just wanted to add, also try it out with Matcaps 👓 It's not going to be as perfect as using nodes, but it can add a bit of stylization to the reflection (but def check out Luwke's node settings on his post!)

Saw some discussion of the reflections in 007 First Light. As far as I can tell, they use Planar Reflections. Here's the same thing in Unity. Easy to set up, but expensive (which is why it's only used in small, enclosed areas at a lower resolution).
