Most AI video doesn’t need a longer prompt. It needs a better director. Character. Action. Environment. Camera. Visual language. You make the creative decisions. Creative Agents turn them into production. Tip #1: Stop prompting. Start directing. 🎬

🐱 This poor kitty was stuck 80 feet up in a tall tree right in the middle of an apartment complex courtyard, crying those heartbreaking little meows for help 💔 A family on the top floor spotted her and came up with the most clever DIY rescue you’ll ever see. They connected long poles end-to-end, attached a crate to the tip, and carefully pushed the whole rig out their window until it reached the terrified cat. She was too scared to jump in at first — the family kept gently trying to convince her with their own little meows — but she finally climbed inside. Then came the real nail-biter: slowly pulling the whole swaying crate all the way back into their apartment ❤️ Those little cries were so emotional, but the happy ending makes it all worth it. Have you ever seen a more creative rescue than this? I was on the edge of my seat the whole time!

Mind blown: A Chinese quant college student builds an AI swarm engine in 10 days flat, explodes GitHub with 13,000+ stars, and scores $4,000,000 in funding! Introducing MiroFish is the multi-agent simulator that's revolutionizing predictions for trading, PR, and more. What is MiroFish? It's a digital sandbox where thousands of AI agents with individual memories and behaviors interact like a real society. Feed it any scenario (news leak, policy change, or even a classic novel's missing ending), and it simulates crowd reactions, debates, and outcomes to forecast real-world events. The Creator's Story: > In late 2025, fourth-year student Guo Hanjiang coded the core using AI assistants. > It went viral overnight, landing him 30m Yuan (~$4m) from Shanda Group. > He ditched the dorm, started a company, and now leads the charge. Key Applications: .Trading: Input financial news or reports, watch simulated market panics and price swings for predictive insights. .PR Testing: Companies/Politics run draft statements to spot backlash and refine messaging. .Creative Experiments: Loaded a lost-ending Chinese novel, agents role-played characters and generated a logical finale. .Easy setup: Deploy via Docker in minutes with any LLM API key. Pro tip: Simulate something wild like Elon Musk tweeting about Dogecoin 2.0 and spawn agent traders, influencers, and investors, generate real-time video clips of the frenzy to test moonshots or crashes risk-free. 🚨Islamization of Red State Texas Rages On (WARNING CHRISTIANS!) Masjid Al-Ikhlas in San Antonio is building a new mosque with a dedicated dawah center run by the Shahadah Foundation. The mosque operates under Sharia, requiring all programs to be approved by its Shura board while providing funeral services according to Islamic law. The foundation’s mission is to assist refugees and immigrants - while actively converting them to Islam. In an unearthed video, Jeffrey Boyer (who went by his Islamic name, Abdul Raheem), then Creative Director of the Shahadah Foundation, told students at Northwest Vista College that “everybody is born Muslim.” He claimed that all prophets - including Jesus - were actually Muslim, and that Muslims today are closer to the “real” Jesus and Mary than Christians are. He said Mary is the highest woman in all of creation, that she wore a hijab, and that all women should emulate her by doing the same. He rejected the Christian belief that Jesus is God and called interest-based banking - including credit cards, mortgages, and student loans - part of a “criminal” system. Boyer also warned the students that after death, angels would question them in the grave about what religion they followed. 🚨Pro-Tip Texans....This is VERY significant because Islam teaches a completely different Jesus (known as Isa) than Christianity. In Islamic doctrine, Jesus was not the Son of God, was not crucified, and will return at the end of times to break the cross, kill the pigs, and abolish Christianity. The Jesus of Islam is a Muslim prophet who will ultimately destroy the Christian faith - not the Jesus worshipped by Christians. This is the same foundation now running dawah out of a Sharia-based mosque that is currently expanding. They’ve already said the new facility will remain in the neighborhood “for generations to come.” The dawah operation is getting more space. The question is how long Texans will keep ignoring what’s being taught and promoted right in their own state. READ:

🚨 Sunrise Movement Executive Director Admit Plot to Sabotage Hilton With Illegal Late-Night Harassment and Even Impersonating ICE Agents On an official movement call with Rising Majority, Sunrise Executive Director Aru Shiney-Ajay and Shawn, an organizer from Sunrise Twin Cities, described actions meant to violate noise laws, disrupt hotel guests, and even “go in as undercover ICE agents.” “I’m seeing so many creative ideas in the chat of other things we could do like leaving bad Google reviews, some people talking about like going in as undercover ICE agents. I love the creativity. I think this is like how movements win.” Shiney-Ajay also makes clear Sunrise is no longer operating as a normal environmental organization. It is now a broader political machine aimed at “fighting authoritarianism.” “Last year we had to confront the fact that There was no way, no path to climate justice without kicking out the authoritarian regime that was driving us towards climate catastrophe every single day of their lives. And so we pivoted and broadened our focus to be able to fight authoritarianism, and that’s why we’re here right now.” Shawn also admitted they’ve been creating and planting anonymous tip forms inside hotels by leaving them in housekeeping carts. “What we’ve also been doing is creating an anonymous tip form that we’ve been trying to leave in like housekeeping carts so that we Don’t have to necessarily engage with them directly face to face so that we don’t put employees in danger.” What was most shocking is Shawn’s description of the late-night “wide awakes,” including their purpose: not just to target ICE, but to deliberately disrupt unrelated hotel guests so Hilton gets hit financially. “Maybe at like midnight, 1 a.m., 2 a.m. Go there, start setting off our car alarms, honking our horns.” “The purpose of that is to, right, obviously wake up ICE agents, piss them off, but also to In a sense, upset other guests too, so that they are willing to then go to hotel management and complain and ask for refunds.” They acknowledge the legal problem, then describe a strategy that depends on police warnings: make the noise, get the warnings, leave, and still claim “the job is still done.” “With especially with these late night ones, since they’re after noise ordinances, they, we don’t have as much flexibility with the legality of on that on that end of things.” “Typically after police tells us to leave or gives us a warning, a couple of warnings, then we’ll usually call it a night, but the job is still done.” Nonprofit status does not protect criminal conduct. Organizing trespass, impersonation of law enforcement, or coordinated nuisance campaigns can expose both individuals and the organization to serious liability, including criminal solicitation or conspiracy, tortious interference with business, and loss of tax-exempt status. Stick around. I’ve previously documented Sunrise engaging in fraudulent hotel bookings and other deceptive tactics aimed at disrupting Hilton’s business.

What if you built a company to maximize deep work? That's what Sam Corcos did. He hasn't regularly checked the news since 2013 and his business is worth $300 million. 12 lessons on writing from the founder and CEO of Levels: 1. The average tech worker can't go more than six minutes without checking Slack. No wonder people struggle to write. 2. Evergreen tip for getting people to actually read your work: add value to the internet. 3. Collaboration is overrated. Smart people thinking deeply about something for a long time, and recording the conclusions via writing, is underrated. 4. Sam did an experiment where he stopped reading the news for a month. He took the time he used to spend reading the news and started reading books instead — he finished eight books that month. 5. Writing solves disagreements. If you don’t pin down your thoughts on paper, you can “discuss” forever without ever reaching clarity. But the conversation becomes much more productive once the goals, methods, and main assumptions are written down. 6. Just about everybody could benefit from more intentional, deep, strategic thought. Writing is how you unlock this mode. 7. Remote work fails without a few great writers on the team. Internal company communication will spiral into a game of telephone without good communicators. 8. Specific feedback is better delivered via writing while general comments are best shared over Loom (because the recipient can feel your vibe.) Pick the right medium; the wrong one will botch your message. 9. A writing culture is protection against the tyranny of the loudest voice. It gives space for quieter people with insight to speak up. 10. You’ll never be able to reflect and write, unless you intentionally carve out the time. “Things” will always turn up. Create non-negotiable writing hours and protect them. 11. Sam does one Think Week every quarter where he disconnects from his work to write deep strategy memos. 12. You need to detach from the hive mind before creative ideas turn up (and it is often via writing that the flimsy premises of the hive mind become obvious.) I've shared the full conversation with Sam Corcos below. This one's a little different from most How I Write episodes because we went so deep on a single topic: business writing. If you'd rather listen on Apple or Spotify, check out the reply tweets.

I made this product launch video over the weekend with just prompts It's all vibe coded There's something you should know, though: Like everyone else, a few days ago my timeline started getting full of videos like this when Remotion launched their Claude skill, so I decided to give it a go I was captivated by all the examples, so I started like everyone was saying: "just write a prompt" I typed the prompt, and it created an extremely bland, untasteful, stock-looking video 10 prompts in and it was not getting better. It was very, very bland. But at least it was something, so I kept going at it I ended up spending my entire weekend on this, 2-3 days of work. Only to realize my original reference videos that inspired me to get started were all fake Everyone was outright lying about their results. They all claimed "I made this with just one prompt", but it was just bait, they didn't really use Remotion or code at all, it was just a normal, human-made motion video Then you expand the X post and read the replies and they're all like "haha joke" in the comments, but their main post already got 1.5 million views and bamboozled everyone who didn't read further And this is a problem: when a viral trend happens, these posts flood your timeline, and you only realize that they're all noise and bait (and that they haven't even used the tools they claim) when you click through the post and read its comments. But 90% of people (like me, initially) just see the post on their timeline while scrolling, and assume it's all real. You don't go in to check every single post you see: you just like it, or save it for later, and carry on with your day, thinking what you saw was the real thing, and that it's all outstanding results, and that motion designers are really done And it's so anxiety inducing, because everyone is hyping their results, but most of it is just not true. I have stopped reading X lately because going in makes me so anxious, everyone is claiming extraordinary outlier results just for the views and clicks, and you feel like you're lagging behind and you're not good enough because you don't get those results So for this video I decided to actually take the tech out for a spin, and see what results I could really get out of it I used Remotion and Claude Code 4.5, but contrary to what everyone was claiming, this video was not "just a prompt". It was fully vibe coded, but it required much more than a prompt. It was multiple days worth of work Here's what I learned: - Making vibe coded videos with Remotion is ~10-20x slower than building app code. I've been wasting my Claude limits on this video - Everything takes a lot of manual work and reprompting. You often need to go frame by frame correcting tiny things - It makes very silly mistakes - Even Opus 4.5 has very very limited knowledge of spatial / visual things. It doesn't understand well z-indexes, layers, compositions, proportions, temporal coherence, etc. Claude Code feels extremely dumb when creating code for Remotion videos, which surprised me a lot, beacuse I had been mind blown by how incredibly well it worked with my Ruby on Rails SaaS codebases - You need to have some design knowledge to adjust things manually, you need to ask for exactly what you want, in the technical jargon it expects. You can't just say "make this more beautiful" or "animate this better" because it just creates slop - Right now vibe coded videos are promising, but I think I could have done this video faster just by doing it manually in After Effects. It really took that much work - If you have a creative idea for something you want to animate, it takes multiple hours of back and forth prompting to create just one or two seconds worth of **good** animation - Tip: PARAMETERIZE everything! It tends to hardcode magic numbers everywhere in the code, so if you change something earlier in the video timeline, everything else breaks. You want to essentially be creating "key frames" with code by telling it to parameterize every frame where something important happens, and calculate the rest of the keyframes based off that. This comes in handy when you need, for example, to adjust keyframes to match the music So in summary: vibe coded videos are promising, but right now it only works for very stock-looking videos unless you put in a ton of effort Maybe actually useful for 1-2 second web animations though, I'll try that next It will obviously get better, this feels like the quality of code generation in 2023-2024, you need to hold its hand and correct it at every step along the way. But even if video code generation was better, you would still need someone with motion design knowledge to at least set the creative direction, lay out the overall script and composition, etc. It's not completely hands-off unless you want slop And a word on caution: especially here on X, there's 90% hype and 10% reality, nothing is what it seems. Do not believe what you see online, people are constantly baiting and then just laughing it off in the comments

It really took that much work - If you have a creative idea for something you want to animate, it takes multiple hours of back and forth prompting to create just one or two seconds worth of good animation - Tip: PARAMETERIZE everything!

John Mayer is a master of his craft. He’s also one of the best I’ve come across at using analogy and demonstration to articulate and demystify the creative process. Here’s a 14-clip (~7-minute) masterclass on mastery and creativity: TL;DW 1/ “Whenever I want to write a big song, I can't...That's when I get writer's block: when I try to write a song to fill the entire galaxy. I've never gotten a song that way. But if I write about something the size of a glass of water—a week later, I notice it's got the universe in it. So I'd rather have the universe in a glass of water than try to make a glass of water fit in the universe.” 2/ "What connects with people is you connecting with yourself." 3/ “Writer’s block is when the two people inside of you—the writer and the reader—when the reader doesn’t love the writer. It is not a failure to write. It is a failure to catch the feedback loop of enjoying what you’re seeing and wanting to contribute more to it.” 4/ “Don't shoot ideas down before you have them. 'That won't work' is the worst thing you can ever say. 'That didn't work' is cool, but 'that won't work' is not a way to go through life.” 5/ “I’ve seen the Cool metric change so many times. I'm not telling you don't chase Cool. I'm saying…by the time you reach what you think is cool, Cool is like, 'over here now.’ ‘The princess is in another castle.' You know what I mean? That's a Mario reference.” 6/ "I'm one-half consumer, one-half artist. So I try to put music out that I myself would want to hear as somebody on the other end." 7/ "I'm seeing a lot of motivation about you following your passion, but I'm not seeing any critical thought to what that is or how to be better at that. So, really the product is passion and that's strange to me. Because my product growing up was sitting in a room yelling, 'Mom, I'm practicing,' for hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours. 8/ "But then also read up...You know, this stuff doesn't just appear. It comes from somewhere. And as soon as you realize you love something—it's almost like catching up with some great TV show on season 9, and you can go, 'oh my God, that means there's 8 seasons before this." 9/ "Whatever you learn is the tip of the iceberg. Dive underwater and find the rest of the iceberg." 10/ "So listening to Stevie Ray Vaughan brought me back to people like Kenny Burrell and Albert King and Jimi Hendrix and Elmore James. So it became this family tree growing out of my CD player." 11/ "I came up with these guys as like references…It’s like if you're into the NBA and you wear different jerseys and you pretend you're a different player in the driveway—that's what I was doing..." 12/ "Which is a wonderful technique for being yourself. Failing to sound exactly like the person you want to sound like is a wonderful way to sound like yourself." 13/ After watching Cory Wong play guitar, Mayer told him, "You have an anatomy thing working on your right hand. Your hand is shaped in a way—you have long fingers, very sinewy hands—that you're able to play like that. That is an example of someone making the most of their anatomical gifts... And I wish more people could embrace finding what their strengths are anatomically—the way your hand is shaped, the way your mind works, whatever—and play to those strengths." 14/ Mayer picks up an acoustic guitar and demonstrates his songwriting process. “Well, I don’t always do it,” he admitted, “because it requires a stupid bravery all the time.” “You just stare at the corner of the wall," Mayer explains then improvises some vocals, “stare at the corner of the wall / try to get it going on / but I can’t sometimes / you just keep going ’til you get something,” he stops singing. “You gotta keep forcing it, forcing it, forcing it…it doesn’t matter [what comes out of your mouth].” Follow Billy Oppenheimer for more content like this!
