Here's a timelapse of me going to space in Crimson Desert. This was first discovered by YouTube Creator "ItemRelocationClub" and the way you do this is by installing a mod that gives you infinite stamina, then using aerial stab to go up you can reach space. It took quite some time, but once you go high enough you can see what looks to be the Earth's atmosphere! The milky way is clearly visible and I also did a short timelapse while I was there. When free falling, Kliff also looks like he's doing an atmospheric entry as he looks like he is catching fire, I don't know exactly if this effect was intentional or not as my lantern was on. Either way, the game looks incredible and makes me wonder if we'll ever get some DLC or a future open world game from Pearl Abyss that allows us to travel to space.

Implementing fluid simulation in my physics engine was such a good idea. So many fun experiements! It's computed fast enough for runtime, as the rest of the physics in my engine. So, it will be used in the game.

Cool video of New Glenn’s fairing re-entry. For this flight we installed an exo-atmospheric reaction control system (RCS) in the fairing to control re-entry and enable recovery of the fairing. We’re planning a parachute recovery later this year, and the data from these fairings gives us the learnings needed to develop and refine that capability.

Crimson Desert also features air combat. You can fly using a dragon mount and attack enemy airships. In mid-air, you can dismount the dragon and land on enemy airships to destroy cannons and damage the ships with your weapons. (Via Paytaha)

Here is a full showcase of my custom Source 2-like light baking and probe implementation for Unreal Engine 5. Features showcased: - Volume based probe system (full density control, fade between volumes with a volume fade slider, automatic volume priority and custom priority overrides) - GPU Lightmass with expanded features like a custom denoiser and overall QOL (like a bake volume which only bakes objects inside the volume for fast prototyping) - Custom Box Capture implementation to make it easier to use (basically just a custom way of scaling the box capture component since its so annoying) - A custom fullbright viewport option for easier map editing (without having to get visual clutter in the way) Will eventually release on FAB as a plugin for UE 5.7. Everything is running inside an Epic Launcher Downloaded version of UE5 in this showcase. #UnrealEngine5 #UE5 #GameDev
