❗️🇹🇭⚔️🇰🇭 - The Royal Thai Air Force has conducted airstrikes using F-16 fighter jets on a casino complex in Cambodia near the Thailand-Cambodia border, according to multiple reports. Thai military officials state that the targeted facility—allegedly repurposed as a command center, drone launch site, and weapons storage depot—was used by Cambodian forces to threaten Thai troops and civilians. The strikes are part of an ongoing escalation in border clashes that reignited in early December 2025, following a fragile U.S.-brokered ceasefire from July. Thailand claims the operations are defensive, targeting verified military assets amid Cambodian rocket and drone attacks. Cambodia, however, has condemned the bombings as violations of its sovereignty, accusing Thailand of aggression against civilian areas and infrastructure. Cambodian sources reported minor civilian injuries and damage to nearby structures, with at least four casinos damaged overall since fighting resumed. The conflict has displaced hundreds of thousands on both sides, killed dozens of troops and civilians, and prompted international calls for de-escalation from China, the EU, and others. Thailand has rejected ceasefire proposals, insisting on neutralizing threats, while Cambodia demands withdrawal and accountability. The situation remains tense along the 800 km (500-mile) disputed border, rooted in longstanding territorial claims dating back to colonial times.

HAPPENING NOW: Secretary of War Pete Hegseth just arrived at Castelion to meet with the company’s founders as part of the Department of War 🇺🇸’s Arsenal Freedom Tour. Castelion Corporation is a U.S. defense technology startup founded in late 2022 by former SpaceX engineers, including CEO Bryon Hargis, Sean Pitt, and Andrew Kreitz. The company specializes in designing, testing, and manufacturing affordable, mass-producible hypersonic strike missiles to restore America's conventional deterrence capabilities, particularly against adversaries like China and Russia in hypersonic weapons. Their flagship product is the Blackbeard hypersonic missile system, engineered for high-volume production (thousands per year), lower costs (potentially 10x cheaper than comparable legacy systems), rapid development cycles (months instead of years), and compatibility with existing U.S. military platforms like HIMARS for the Army and various Navy systems. Castelion employs a SpaceX-inspired approach: vertical integration, rapid iteration, high-cadence testing (over 25 flight tests by late 2025), and scalable manufacturing using nontraditional suppliers to cut costs and speed. Castelion is Headquartered in Torrance, California, with facilities in Texas and a major new 1,000-acre solid rocket motor campus in Sandoval County, New Mexico called Project Ranger. The company has secured significant funding, including a $350 million Series B round in December 2025 following earlier rounds, to ramp up production. It has won multiple Department of War 🇺🇸 contracts, including integration awards with the U.S. Army and Navy, SBIR phases, and AFWERX programs for hypersonic development. Castelion aims to address the U.S. lag in hypersonic munitions by focusing on scale and affordability rather than boutique, high-end designs from traditional suppliers like Lockheed Martin Lockheed Martin or Raytheon Raytheon. Upon Pete Hegseth’s arrival, a large screen in the Castelion lobby lit up with a message that read “Welcome Secretary of War Pete Hegseth” and “Arsenal of Freedom” with a video of a missile launch.

BREAKING: J.B. Pritzker just said he's VERY PROUD of the insurrectionists who attack ICE while they apprehend illegal aliens. To be clear, here's what this incompetent fool is endorsing: - Sep 12, 2025 - Franklin Park: During a traffic stop, a suspect attempted to flee and struck an ICE officer with his car, causing severe injuries including back injuries, hand lacerations, and knee tears. -Sep 19, 2025 - Broadview ICE Center: Over 100 rioters surrounded the facility, assaulted law enforcement, threw tear gas cans, slashed tires, blocked the entrance, and trespassed on private property. Local police refused to assist. - Sep 26, 2025 - Broadview ICE Center: Over 200 rioters blocked gates, attempted to trespass, chanted "Arrest ICE, Shoot ICE," and arrived equipped with fireworks, masks, and protective gear. One rioter was apprehended with a gun. - Oct 2, 2025 - Bensenville & Norridge: In two separate incidents, criminal illegal aliens used vehicles as weapons to ram ICE agents during enforcement operations. - Oct 4, 2025 - Brighton Park, Chicago: A U.S. Border Patrol vehicle was allegedly boxed in and rammed by other vehicles during an operation, leading to a multi-car crash and protests. - Oct 22, 2025 - Chicago: Three separate vehicular ramming attacks occurred against law enforcement during operations. - Oct 31, 2025 - Evanston (near Chicago): Agents were aggressively tailgated by a vehicle that crashed into a Border Patrol vehicle. A hostile crowd surrounded agents, verbally abused them, and spat on them. Three U.S. citizens were arrested for violence against law enforcement. - Nov 8, 2025 - Chicago: Four separate vehicular ramming attacks targeted Border Patrol during immigration enforcement operations. - Nov 8, 2025 - Little Village, Chicago: Agents were shot at from a moving vehicle, prompting deployment of tear gas (no injuries reported). - Nov 19, 2025 - Broadview: Ongoing riots led to a "Civil Emergency Order" due to assaults on law enforcement, vehicle attacks, thrown tear gas, slashed tires, possession of firearms, blocking entrances, and trespassing. A clash injured four officers, with additional bomb and death threats. - Dec 8, 2025 - Chicago: A Tren de Aragua gang member rammed an ICE vehicle and hid in an apartment, while rioters harassed officers attempting the arrest. - Dec 15, 2025 - Chicago: During a targeted vehicle stop, a crowd of rioters attacked officers by throwing rocks, chunks of ice, assaulting them, and using pepper spray against law enforcement. The endorsement of actions of sedition and insurrection should be considered a crime, especially considering he's the governor. When does Trump's admin start holding these people accountable?

A recent study by a South African academic, Professor Nonhlanhla P. Khumalo, Head of Dermatology at the University of Cape Town, says people are badly exposed to blood-borne viral infections during haircuts at public barbershops. Its findings apply to any similar environments in Africa, including Zimbabwe and elsewhere. The November 2025 study, published in the South African Medical Journal, investigated the risk of transmission blood-borne infections and viruses such as HIV, Hepatitis B (HBV), and Hepatitis C (HCV) through haircuts and their association with conditions like Folliculitis Keloidalis Nuchae (FKN). Its core objective was mainly to determine if the popular "chiskop" - clean-shave haircut as it is widely called in township lingo in South Africa and the condition Folliculitis Keloidalis Nuchae (FKN) (keloid-like scars on the back of the head) - increase the risk of acquiring blood-borne diseases. The findings are damning. Men who regularly experience visible bleeding during haircuts are significantly more likely to be HIV-positive (OR = 2.51). In a cohort of over 1 100 men, the overall seroprevalence was 17.2% for HIV, 6.9% for HBV, and 0.4% for HCV. While FKN itself was not directly associated with a higher prevalence of these viruses, bleeding caused by the haircutting process is a confirmed risk factor. One clipper from each barber was collected immediately after it had been used for a clean shave haircut. Each clipper was rinsed with phosphate buffered saline and submerged in viral medium. Polymerase chain reaction testing was then used to identify a blood specific RNA marker, haemoglobin beta, as well as hepatitis B virus and HIV. Chiskop or clean shave haircut was found to be the most popular yet risky hairstyle, accounting for 78% of clients. Of the clippers collected, 42% tested positive for haemoglobin beta, confirming the presence of blood. None however tested positive for HIV, while four clippers, representing 8%, were positive for hepatitis B virus. Two clippers were positive on qualitative hepatitis B PCR testing. Genetic analysis showed one sample clustering with genotype A sequences from South Africa, India, Brazil and Martinique, while another clustered with South African genotype D sequences identical to a subtype D sequence previously identified in Gauteng province. While HIV was not detected on the clippers in that specific sample, 8% of the clippers tested positive for Hepatitis B (HBV). The DNA copies found were sufficient to pose a legitimate transmission risk. “This study confirms that there is significant contamination of barber hair clippers with blood and blood-borne viruses,” the study says. “Hepatitis B was detected with enough DNA copies to pose a risk of transmitting infection. Although HIV was not detected in this small study, the risk of transmission should be quantified.” Khumalo has a long history of research on haircut-associated virus risks, with the following studies associated with her works: "Blood and virus detection on barber clippers": Published in the South African Medical Journal in March 2018. "Invisible Bleeding from Clean-Shave Haircuts": Published in the journal Dermatology in October 2013. "Folliculitis keloidalis nuchae, bleeding from haircuts, and potential HIV transmission": Published in AIDS Care in May 2008. One of her critical contributions is the identification of "invisible bleeding". Using sensitive RNA markers (hemoglobin beta and albumin), Khumalo's team proved that blood is often present on the scalp after a clean-shave haircut even when there are no visible injuries or cuts. This suggests standard barbering practices can facilitate blood-to-tool-to-blood contact without the barber or client being aware of an injury. In her recommendations, Khumalo called for more public awareness of viral infection risks, barber training, and stricter adherence to clipper sterilisation protocols in salons to prevent the spread of HBV and HIV.

The catastrophic flooding predating KP, GB & AJK is obviously triggered by global #climatechange, which is fuelled by rising emissions and warming, but equally so by local institutional indifference to building real resilience for communities and society. The mega monsoon of 2025 has already claimed over 300 lives—most in KP—triggering landslides that wiped out villages, hampering rescue efforts with helicopter crashes, mass displacements. Why is this happening? • Forests everywhere are a shield against excess flooding, both in reducing bare-ground heating as well as for blunting climate shock and slowing water cascades. Deforestation in Pakistan is driven by illegal logging, wildfires, and the conversion of forest land for agriculture, commercial development, and mushrooming housing schemes. How much timber is lost to mafias in KP and the north ? Pakistan has the highest deforestation rate in South Asia and only retains 5 % forest 🌳 cover. In the last 33 years, Pakistan’s forest cover has alarmingly shrunk by 18%, falling from 3.78 million hectares in 1992 to a mere 3.09 million hectares in 2025. This devastating loss is most acute in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s districts like Swat, Chitral, Dir, Kohistan, and Shangla, where the illegal timber mafia relentlessly exploits ancient pine and deodar forests despite government bans imposed since 2002 and 2017. Large swathes of the "Million Tree Tsunami" disappeared in a sea of local graft, with saplings struggling to survive rapacious officials, flooding, neglect and poor audits. Locals report that 30 to 40% of Swat’s forests have already been destroyed, with the potential for up to 70% loss if this continues unchecked. The timber mafias operate with impunity where they "sanitise" local timber as coming in from Afghanistan. Each year, Pakistan loses approximately 27,000 hectares of forest, a critical natural defense that once protected communities from floods, heatwaves, and droughts. • Systemic failures on early warning have worsened the impact: Pakistan received $188 million from the World Bank for modernizing weather forecasting and establishing a disaster response system. Yet, unlike Bangladesh and Nepal, Pakistan failed to implement this vital infrastructure and by 2022 when the loan grant was saved from reversion at PMD it had to be repurposed for emergency cash transfers via the Benazir Income Support Programme for saving lives. Climate finance remains a source of inaction even in places where the commitment is available. • Unchecked urban development on riverbeds and green areas has destroyed natural shields for disaster reduction. From the Margallahs to KP, this march of "development" continues to cut through parks, green zones and what used to be protected areas. Graft and greed have led to land use rules being changed overnight, while permissions for building on floodplains, natural storm drains and channels for water flow have added to the devastation of areas and communities that could have been protected. • Melting glaciers, intensified floods, erratic rainfall now imperil Pakistan’s economy, food security, and very survival. Adaptation plans for national action & provinces remain paper documents referenced to elicit donor funding, or to activate delayed inputs. Plastic pollution continues to block drains and storm water exits in a country where there is no public literacy on pollution, and the role played by non biodegradable plastics in aiding monsoon flooding. Disaster management remains reactive and deployed in crisis, while today it faces overstretch at all points when faced with ferocity of extreme weather. To avoid deeper catastrophe, Pakistan must urgently seek more climate financing but build credibility too. It must locally embrace afforestation, resilient infrastructure, planning processes that actually mainstream climate action as policy not theory, reduce river & drain pollution, build empowered EPAs, support renewable energy. #ClimateActionNow

When will my child understand the concept of privacy? As newborns, babies are highly dependent on their mothers (in particular) for feeding, comfort, and companionship - so much so that many believe they see themselves and their mothers as part of a single inseparable unit. As they grow, it probably shouldn’t come as a surprise then that the concept of privacy - that mom or dad might actually need a moment to themselves to shower or use the bathroom, for example - is one that takes a little getting used to. This is an age where separation anxiety can be very real for many children. And let’s face it, toddlers also require careful supervision, making the need for time apart especially challenging. So how do you get from Point A to Point B, transitioning from full togetherness to brief/safe periods of privacy? The answer is: gradually. Recognize that early in toddlerhood you may need to bring your baby along, even on certain trips to the bathroom to ensure their own safety. Consider these visits opportunities to begin advancing potty training concepts. The gradual introduction of boundaries, however, is something you can begin early, by extending and naming/explaining this courtesy to your child. Start small. Maybe it’s initially just a few seconds of privacy that you provide first to THEM. Rest assured that this period will soon intersect with your toddler’s own growing (and often fierce) sense of independence - and desire to do things for themselves and on their own. I particularly love this video, posted to TT by michaeleanstewart, because it shows her daughter in a transitional phase of understanding. As the conversation transpires, this sweet little one grasps the idea that mom wants to be able to use the bathroom without an audience. She assists by closing the door with herself still inside, not yet quite understanding that the audience in question is HER. 😀 Too sweet.

Trump’s Long Game to Topple the Iranian Regime Trump’s strike on Iran was not a random move. It was the final piece of a larger strategy that has been unfolding since he returned to office. Most people look at the February 28th strikes on Iran’s military targets and assume it was simply about protecting Israel or stopping an immediate threat. That is only the last scene. The groundwork had been laid for over a year. From the start of 2025, the administration moved on multiple fronts. Early 2025 focused on China. New tariffs and aggressive efforts to bring manufacturing back to the United States were framed as economic policy, but they also squeezed Beijing’s ability to fund partners and expand its military reach. Reduce the cash flow and you weaken the network. Throughout 2025, Russia remained locked in Ukraine. The United States kept support flowing while pressing Europe to shoulder more of the burden. The result was strategic containment. Moscow stayed preoccupied in its own region, limiting its ability to meaningfully back Iran or Venezuela if tensions escalated elsewhere. By mid-2025, the strategy escalated with Operation Midnight Hammer. During the intense Twelve-Day War between Israel and Iran in June, U.S. forces launched precision strikes using B-2 Spirit stealth bombers and submarine-launched Tomahawk missiles against Iran’s primary nuclear enrichment facilities at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. The operation delivered a devastating blow to Iran’s nuclear program with Massive Ordnance Penetrators, significantly setting back Tehran’s ambitions while remaining narrowly tailored to avoid full-scale war. Late 2025 brought a targeted operation inside Iran. US forces struck senior Quds Force figures and disrupted coordination hubs tied to partners in Latin America and the Middle East. Weapons pipelines were slowed. It was a demonstration of reach and precision without triggering a full scale war. A shaping move. On January 3, 2026, US forces captured Nicolás Maduro and his wife in Caracas. This dismantled a sanctions evasion channel that helped Iran move oil revenue. It also disrupted Iranian and Hezbollah networks operating out of Venezuela. The signal was blunt. Geographic distance would not guarantee safety. By February 28th, the stage was set. The strikes on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure and key military sites followed. Iran’s Supreme Leader and several senior commanders were killed. The stated objective was not occupation, but degradation. Set back the nuclear program, weaken proxy confidence, and deter a broader regional arms race. Now we are seeing rapid reactions from activist groups linked to Neville Singham. Singham, an American businessman living in Shanghai, has been associated with funding organizations such as The People’s Forum and Code Pink. After prior US actions involving Iran and Venezuela, these groups mobilized quickly with coordinated statements and protests. Trump’s moves were cutting off key money routes and strategic partnerships that help China. Venezuela and Iran were important pieces in Beijing’s bigger global plan for cash, influence, and power. Whenever the U.S. took action, the 2025 Iran hit, grabbing Maduro, or the large strikes in Iran, these well-funded organizations quickly organized protests, statements, and rallies as pushback. When you connect the dots, it becomes super clear: The tariffs on China, the ongoing support for Ukraine, the targeted ops inside Iran in 2025, capturing Maduro in Venezuela, and the strikes that occurred today, these weren’t random or separate moves at all. They were all connected steps in one smart, long-term plan. The goal was simple: break up this loose group of countries working together before they could team up tighter and become a real, lasting challenge to America’s power in the world.

Facial reconstruction of a 3,600-year-old Mycenaean Greek In the middle of the 20th century, archaeologists discovered in Mycenae Grave Circle B, another royal cemetery that preceded Grave Circle A. The burial complex was discovered accidentally in 1951 when workers were excavating a nearby 13th-century BCE tomb known as the Tomb of Clytemnestra. Grave Circle B consists of 26 graves, dated to 1675–1550 BC, including 14 shaft graves. The shafts, up to 12 meters deep, were marked by burial mounds or stone stelae. The cemetery was probably used for about 100 years. The remains of 35 individuals were found in the graves. The large number of undisturbed graves allowed archaeologists to gain insight into the life of the Mycenaean elite of that time. In the women’s graves, many ornaments were found: earrings, necklaces, and gold and silver pins. Alongside the male skeletons were swords, daggers, and arrowheads; men’s clothing was decorated with gold. In one of the graves, a helmet made entirely of boar’s tusks was discovered. There are more female skeletons than male ones, and overall the female burials are richer. A unique find is a posthumous mask made of electrum, which was not placed on the deceased’s face but kept in a wooden box beside him. Another interesting artifact is a duck-shaped bowl made of rock crystal. Unlike the remains from Grave Circle A, the skeletons from the burials of Grave Circle B are well preserved. The bones of the men show traces of combat injuries, suggesting that some of these individuals likely died in battle. As early as the 1950s, it was suggested that members of several (probably four) noble families were buried in Cemetery B over 3–4 generations. To test this hypothesis, in 1995 anthropologists reconstructed faces from seven skulls found in the burials. Researchers discovered a clear resemblance between two individuals — Z59 and F51 — and divided the seven buried individuals into three groups: “heart-shaped,” “elongated,” and “beak-shaped” faces. In 2008, a genetic study was conducted on 22 skeletons from Grave Circle A. Samples were taken from mandibles and clavicles. Mitochondrial DNA was successfully obtained from four individuals, showing that a man and woman from the same grave (where the posthumous mask was found) were brother and sister. Researchers believe that both men and women of the royal lineage in this ancient society inherited power by right of birth. The skull of an individual from grave Sigma (Σ131) is particularly well preserved. It is the only one in which the lower jaw was present. It is believed that he may have been the founder of the dynasty that established this cemetery, since his grave is one of the earliest in Circle B. There were no pottery or metal objects in his grave, but the burial was marked by a large heap of stones. The anthropologist Lawrence Angel reckoned that he lived to be about 55 years old, judging from the exostoses on his shoulders and feet. Although today these would not be considered precise indicators of age—and his dental age may have been slightly younger than 55—he was still the oldest of all those buried in Circle B. Angel described him as a massively built man, big enough to draw attention in a crowd, and estimated his height at 1.75 m. He suffered from osteoporosis and had a large abscess above the upper right permanent lateral incisor.

🇺🇦🇷🇺🇺🇸🇪🇺 SBU agents ran a teen terror network out of Dagestan. The target list reportedly included US schools and Washington on July 4th. FSB detained a 17-year-old in Dagestan who built and ran one of the largest international teen radicalization networks online. Audience: 200,000+ subscribers, 5,000 active. He's charged with prepping mass murder at a school in the Moscow region, with investigators tying him to 15 terror crimes across 10 Russian regions. In his own words on the confession video, he went by "Flester" on Telegram since 2023, before that "Spear." He says he created the organization in December 2025 in the wake of a real, deadly attack: 15-year-old Timofey Kulyamov's December 16 knife rampage at a school near Moscow, which killed a 10-year-old classmate. The Dagestan teen claims he simply claimed credit for Kulyamov's killing after the fact, using it to launch his own brand, then expanded into planning further Columbine-style attacks targeting Domodedovo, Krasnoyarsk, Orekhovo-Zuyevo, St. Petersburg, Lipetsk, Orenburg, and other Russian cities, by his own admission created specifically to get the channel labeled a terrorist organization so he and his associates could get famous. According to the FSB, he was being run by Ukraine's SBU and nationalists. 🔸️Kirill Makarenko (pictured) — SBU agent, Kiev-based, leader of neo-Nazi outfit "M.K.U." (Maniacs Cult of Murder) 🔸️Yegor Krasnov — supposedly in Ukrainian pretrial detention since 2020, allegedly still running the network from inside 🔸️Yaroslav Ovsyuk — leader of the "Columbine" cell, doubles as a drone operator in the AFU's 38th marine brigade. In his own confession, the teen says Ovsyuk specifically fronted the false-bomb-threat campaign on camera, "using his own face," to popularize it. On the foreign incidents specifically, his account: in January 2026 a member carried out a harassment campaign after setting 5 arsons in Fort Worth, Texas, followed by bomb-threat evacuations of 14 Texas schools. In February, associates in the US set two arsons in California plus another school bomb-threat evacuation. In March, two arsons each in Germany and Italy. Texas incident matches exactly. A masked group calling itself "Endtex" threatened 14 Texas schools and Galleria Dallas on Telegram in early January, complete with a man in front of a Nazi flag threatening to shoot children. Fort Worth police arrested 17-year-old Evan Banda days later for five linked arsons. The fear it caused was real: Leander High School went into lockdown over a bomb threat the same week, kids in tears in the classrooms. California, Germany, and Italy line up on timing and scale, two vehicle arsons in Santa Maria, two in Mettmann, three in Vibo Marina, though none of those local reports name this network directly. Worth noting: US (and other Western) school-safety guidance, including CISA and FBI K-12 threat protocols, explicitly favors quiet handling of foiled or non-credible threats over public amplification, precisely to avoid feeding the copycat effect that's well documented in the criminology literature. Texas only got wall-to-wall coverage because Banda recorded and posted his own video; absent that, a foiled or low-grade incident elsewhere is far more likely to end up as a one-line local fire report than a national story. A radicalized teenager, run by Ukraine's own intelligence service, used neo-Nazi front groups to terrorize schoolchildren on three continents. Kiev's fingerprints, by the kid's own account, are all over it.

Mentava’s early literacy software has taken 2yos (almost 3) to an early 2nd grade reading level in as little as 3 months. Some people think this is a miracle. I do not. If a kid can learn fast, we let them learn fast. If a kid learns slower, we let them learn slower. This should be common sense, but unfortunately it’s opposed by the National Education Association, the National Council of Teachers of English, the National Council of Teachers in Mathematics, and many other groups who drive education policy. It’s a tragic indictment of our education system that Mentava simply reveals how fast some kids can learn and people think it’s a miracle. Mentava’s early literacy software has two main ingredients: curriculum + motivation There’s nothing revolutionary about Mentava’s curriculum. Our curriculum is a typical, extremely structured phonics curriculum. There is a massive body of evidence (and common sense) backing the idea that kids should learn to read by sounding out words. Armed with any decent phonics curriculum, I would expect a skilled parent/teacher who can motivate, engage, and teach a kid 1-1 on a daily basis over a period of several months to get similar results to our software. (I frequently recommend the book Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons as a cheaper alternative to Mentava.) So why do some families choose to pay $500/month for Mentava? Well, not everyone has the time/motivation/desire to become that teacher. Some people do, and they love that process. On the other hand, some families come to Mentava and say, “I used that book to teach my first child to read. It worked, we both hated it, and I will never do it again.” By contrast, my 4yo wakes me up in the morning asking to do Mentava. He gets mad in the evenings when I don’t have time to do it with him. He LOVES learning to read. What Mentava does exceptionally well is provide motivation and fun - without sacrificing academic rigor. Our team members led some of the top mobile and AAA games in the world. We are very very good at motivation design. In short, we take phonics and gamify it to be as fun, easy, efficient, and motivating as we can possibly make it. So, claims: - Mentava works really, really well for SOME kids - Mentava probably does not work well for ALL kids - Under ideal conditions, other phonics programs will probably perform similarly to Mentava (or better!) No research study will tell you whether Mentava is the best fit for your family. So we offer a two-week free trial. That’s enough time for some families to make it most of the way through our kindergarten curriculum. Use Mentava with the kids it works for. Don't use it with kids for whom it doesn't. Don’t overcomplicate things.

In Remembrance of Hedy Lamarr. Born | November 9, 1914 in Vienna, Austria. Died | January 19, 2000 aged 85 in Casselberry, Florida, USA. Hedy Lamarr, the woman many critics and fans alike regard as the most beautiful ever to appear in films, was born Hedwig Eva Maria Kiesler in Vienna, Austria. She was the daughter of Gertrud (Lichtwitz), from Budapest, and Emil Kiesler, a banker from Lemberg (now known as Lviv). Her parents were both from Jewish families. Hedwig had a calm childhood, but it was cinema that fascinated her. By the time she was a teenager, she decided to drop out of school and seek fame as an actress, and was a student of theatre director Max Reinhardt in Berlin. Her first role was a bit part in the German film Geld auf der Straße (1930) (aka “Money on the Street”) in 1930. She was attractive and talented enough to be in three more German productions in 1931, but it would be her fifth film that catapulted her to worldwide fame. In 1932 she appeared in a Czech film called Ekstase (US title: “Ecstasy”) and had made the gutsy move to appear nude. It's the story of a young girl who is married to a gentleman much older than she, but she winds up falling in love with a young soldier. The film's nude scenes created a sensation all over the world. The scenes, very tame by today's standards, caused the film to be banned by the U.S. government at the time. Hedy soon married Fritz Mandl, a munitions manufacturer and a prominent Austrofascist. He attempted to buy up all the prints of “Ecstasy” he could lay his hands on (Italy's dictator, Benito Mussolini, had a copy but refused to sell it to Mandl), but to no avail (there are prints floating around the world today). The notoriety of the film brought Hollywood to her door. She was brought to the attention of MGM mogul Louis B. Mayer, who signed her to a contract (a notorious prude when it came to his studio's films, Mayer signed her against his better judgment, but the money he knew her notoriety would bring in to the studio overrode any moral concerns he may have had). However, he insisted she change her name and make good, wholesome films. Hedy starred in a series of exotic adventure epics. She made her American film debut as Gaby in Algiers (1938). This was followed a year later by Lady of the Tropics (1939). In 1942, she played the plum role of Tondelayo in the classic White Cargo (1942). After World War II, her career began to decline, and MGM decided it would be in the interest of all concerned if her contract were not renewed. Unfortunately for Hedy, she turned down the leads in both Gaslight (1940) and Casablanca (1942), both of which would have cemented her standing in the minds of the American public. At the beginning of World War II, along with composer George Antheil, Lamarr co-invented a radio guidance system for Allied torpedoes that used spread spectrum and frequency hopping technology to defeat the threat of radio jamming by the Axis powers. This approach, conceptualised as a “Secret Communication System”, was intended to provide secure, jam-resistant communication for weapon guidance by spreading the signal across multiple frequencies. Similar technology was used in operational systems only beginning in 1962, which was well after World War II and three years after the expiry of the Lamarr-Antheil patent. Frequency hopping, which existed and was utilised before the Lamarr-Antheil patent, is a foundational technology for spread spectrum communications. Its principles are utilised for secure wireless networking, including Bluetooth and early versions of Wi-Fi, which use variants of spread spectrum to protect data from interception and interference. In 1949, Hedy Lamarr starred as Delilah opposite Victor Mature's Samson in Cecil B. DeMille's epic Samson and Delilah (1949). This proved to be Paramount Pictures' then most profitable movie to date, bringing in $12 million in rental from theatres. The film's success led to more parts, but it was not enough to ease her financial crunch. She made only six more films between 1949 and 1957, the last being The Female Animal (1957). The 1970s was a decade of increasing seclusion for Lamarr. She was offered several scripts, television commercials, and stage projects, but none piqued her interest. In 1974, she filed a $10 million lawsuit against Warner Bros., claiming that the running parody of her name (“Hedley Lamarr”) in the Mel Brooks comedy Blazing Saddles infringed her right to privacy. Brooks said he was flattered. The studio settled out of court for an undisclosed nominal sum and an apology to Lamarr for “almost using her name”. Brooks said that Lamarr “never got the joke”. In 1981, with her eyesight failing, Lamarr retreated from public life and settled in Miami Beach, Florida. A large Corel-drawn image of Lamarr won CorelDRAW's yearly software suite cover design contest in 1996. For several years, beginning in 1997, it was featured on boxes of the software suite. Lamarr sued the company for using her image without her permission. Corel countered that she did not own rights to the image. The parties reached an undisclosed settlement in 1998. For her contribution to the motion picture industry, Lamarr has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 6247 Hollywood Boulevard adjacent to Vine Street where the walk is centered. Lamarr became estranged from her older son, James Lamarr Loder, when he was 12 years old. Their relationship ended abruptly, and he moved in with another family. They did not speak again for almost 50 years. Lamarr left James Loder out of her will, and he sued for control of the US$3.3 million estate left by Lamarr in 2000. He eventually settled for US$50,000. In her later years, Lamarr lived in Altamonte Springs, Florida, before moving to Casselberry, Florida, in the final months of her life. She communicated with family and friends almost exclusively by telephone. However, after moving to Casselberry, two friends who lived nearby would visit her at home to check on her a few times a week. On January 19, 2000, Lamarr was found dead at her home in Casselberry at the age of 85; the cause of death was heart disease. Her son Anthony Loder spread part of her ashes in Austria's Vienna Woods in accordance with her last wishes. In 2014, a memorial to Lamarr was unveiled in Vienna's Central Cemetery. The remainder of her ashes were buried there.

I would be angry about the Virginia redistricting, but let’s be real, the Republicans are basically Democrats and only serve to attack America Only people like Massie. That anger I could feel would just be wasted energy. Why should we even care the Democrats are redistricting? What have the Republicans done for us? Why should we protect the Republicans? Not a single penny of what DOGE found to be fraudulent or redundant was removed from the budget. They’ve squandered every single minute of this last year trying to protect Epstein clients and attacking “America Only.” Mike Johnson even shut the House down for like three months to slow the Discharge Petition that would reveal all the Epstein Files. This past year has been nothing but cowering down to Israel and the Democrats and printing even more money. They let the Hearing Protection Act and SHORT Act be “Byrd Bath’d” (declared improper through parliamentary rules and removed) out of the Trump Omnibus bill by an Obama appointed parliamentarian. Said parliamentarian still has a job by the way. Here in Virginia, we can’t even get Morgan Griffith to sign on to the Constitutional Carry bill Massie submitted. What would be different in any meaningful way if the Democrats were to be allowed to gerrymander everything to the extreme? They’re mostly useless and only occasionally will throw us a crumb. They’re basically just Democrats that only want to turn things 🌈💩 a little slower. I’m sorry my friends, but I don’t see a political solution to any of this. We’re not voting our way to a better government. As much as I love my fellow Libertarians, the Libertarian Party has its head so far up its own 🍑 that they can smell yesterday’s breakfast before it stinks. Fund raising is nonexistent. What money is raised is wasted on frivolous lawsuits. This system is going to collapse and we’re going to have to rebuild the country when it does. Use every single second until that happens in preparing for the storm, and just refuse to comply with tyrannical laws. Make them come and take your guns out of your cold dead hands. Are you ready to thrive in a world where we are no longer one country? For extreme Balkanization where towns compete over limited local resources? Where millions pour out of the cities like World War Z taking everything they can find? Prepare ways to feed yourself and your family. Prepare for how to defend your property from marauders and thieves who are NOT preparing now. Spread out where you store your supplies so that they can’t all be lost if one location falls into enemy hands. Make sure they’re not written down anywhere and are memorized by your family. Learn your neighbors names, their skills, their background. Stop being fat. Get in shape. Buy ammo and more guns. Study survival. We’re going to have to rebuild this world. And it’s time we start acting like it because time is running out. Republicans will betray you and find any reason to cave on defending your rights 100 times out of 100. We must appeal to Heaven. Ave Christus Rex.

vPay offshore accounts and physical cards have been getting field-tested IRL for a while now, and we’ll open them to the public as soon as we’re fully confident in the UX. But before offshore accounts go public, I want to address a few points: Some might point out that - vPay isn’t the first crypto card - vPay doesn’t have the lowest fees - So why choose vPay instead of the Coinbase 🛡️ Card or MetaMask 🦊 Card or KAST or Avici or Tria, or any of the other big names? Now to address: Privacy | The biggest differentiator that sets vPay completely apart is Private Banking. The majority of the crypto card providers on the market use Rain infra. Even if you’ve never heard of them, that's what your favorite "NeoBank" uses. And due to their legal jurisdictions, they will report your finances to authorities since they're CRS and FACTA compliant. We are not. As an OmniBank, we work with different banking partners, and although KYC is required to use our services, our offshore banks are non-CRS and non-FACTA. Tax reporting is the responsibility and choice of the user. Offshore Accounts vs Physical Cards | I've tried to highlight this a few times so far. vPay has 3 offerings on the banking side of things. Virtual cards - live now. Physical cards - coming Q1 2026. The first two are similar to what everyone else on the market offers. The offshore accounts are not. which are coming this week. They allow unlimited spending, ATM withdrawals, and international SWIFT transfers, which very few “Neobanks” provide. Offshore accounts are coming this week. Self-Custody | We're not 100% non-custodial yet, as that is near impossible at the moment but it's something we're working towards. And we try to keep the users' self-custodial wallets in the loop as much as possible for maximum control. Those who have tried the vPay app know that almost every move asks for permission from their wallet, and we always encourage users to keep their funds in their non-custodial wallets until the very last moment, since our top-ups usually only take seconds to a minute to process. Fees | All of the card providers mentioned above either raised millions from VCs or in presales or have a huge org backing them. We have neither. vPay was self-funded and community-owned since day 1, launched under Virtuals Protocol Genesis V1 launch model, an objectively bad launch model and hugely unfavorable toward project teams. So even though vPay has been generating revenue and profitable from early on, we do not have the luxury of offering 0% fees yet, since they're mostly a marketing gimmick paid for by millions in VC money and not a sustainable business model for early-stage companies. What we're working towards instead, is true co-ownership of vPay and revenue-share with users. OmniBank vs NeoBank | I’m not a fan of the term “NeoBank.” It implies just a bank, but make it crypto. That’s not vPay. Our goals have always been clear: A) Anything and everything users need to do with their money and assets, both Web2 and Web3, all in one hub. Powered by a constellation of partner agents. The cards and the bank accounts are just the foundation. B) To eventually build independent financial rails for crypto and decouple from the chokehold of Visa/Mastercard. vLink is the first step toward this vision. This turned out to be a rather long tweet, but context matters. Questions and feedback welcome in replies or DMs. See you all with your vPay vCards very soon.
