$BNB turns 9 today! On July 14, 2017, $BNB launched as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum. It started out as a utility token for a young exchange, and nine years later it sits at the center of one of the most active onchain ecosystems in crypto. Here’s a quick breakdown of that journey: 2017 - Launched on Ethereum at $0.15 with a 200M total supply 2019 - Migrated to its own chain and became a native asset for the first time 2020 - Binance Smart Chain went live, bringing EVM smart contracts and making $BNB the gas of a fast-growing dApp ecosystem 2021 - The DeFi and GameFi boom put the chain at the center of onchain activity, and $BNB reached $690 2022 - Binance Smart Chain became BNB Chain, and BNB took on a new meaning: Build N Build 2023 - The stack expanded with opBNB for scale and BNB Greenfield for storage 2024 - Beacon Chain fusion brought staking, governance, and everything else onto one chain 2025 - Pascal, Lorentz, and Maxwell cut block times from 3s to 0.75s, DEX volume set records, and $BNB hit a new all-time high of $1,370 2026 (so far) · Blocks now land in 450ms with 650ms finality, roughly double the throughput the chain had in January Along the way, over 65M of the original 200M $BNB supply has been burned, on the road to a final supply of 100M. The H2 2026 roadmap keeps the focus where it has been all year: doubling mainnet throughput again, and building a next-generation L1 designed for 100K+ TPS with transactions confirmed in under 50ms. Nine years in, and $BNB has never been faster to use, cheaper to move, or scarcer to hold. Happy birthday, $BNB.

The OriginTrail DKG V10 begins its mainnet rollout with a Frontier-AI Resilience Gate. Today, the final V10 release candidate (the exact contract bytecode intended for mainnet) goes live as a public pre-mainnet, funded with 300,000 ethereum:0xaa7a9ca87d3694b5755f213b5d04094b8d0f0a6f tokens: a 200,000 TRAC honeypot pool of real, drainable positions plus a 100,000 severity-reward pool. Independent researchers and AI-augmented teams are invited to break it: drain the honeypot and you keep what you take, and every valid finding is paid by severity. It’s a real pass/fail checkpoint: findings are fixed and verified first, and clearing the gate is the precondition for the mainnet launch. The first step of the DKG V10 deployment, by design. Why lead with security instead of shipping and patching later? On May 29, 2026, a researcher using Claude Opus 4.8 surfaced a critical, roughly four-year-old soundness flaw in Zcash 🛡️’s Orchard pool (a bug that had passed repeated expert review) in about a day, with a working proof-of-concept. The moment matters; the trajectory matters more. Claude Mythos, Anthropic’s frontier model, is so capable at finding vulnerabilities that it was first withheld from public release and run only inside a defensive partner program, where it reportedly surfaced more than ten thousand high- and critical-severity bugs in its first month. It’s now days from a reported public release. The bar for what an attacker, human or AI, can find only rises from here. As Anthropic framed it, the advantage goes to whoever uses these tools first: attackers in the short term, defenders who fix bugs before code ships in the long term. The Resilience Gate is how we make sure we’re on the defenders’ side, testing DKG V10 not just against today’s models but against what arrives next. For anyone shipping on-chain systems, the implication is simple: this code launches once, mistakes can’t be undone, and the responsible move is to invite that scrutiny before any user value is at stake. Say hello to Boojum 👋: zkSync Era’s new high-performance proof system for radical decentralization. Boojum is an upgrade that will transition zkSync Era to a STARK-powered proof system, providing world-class performance on consumer-grade hardware. 💡 Learn more: TL;DR 👇 Boojum is the name of our Rust-based cryptographic library, which we use to implement the upgraded version of the ZK circuits for zkSync Era and the ZK Stack. The name Boojum was inspired by Lewis Carroll's poem "The Hunting of the Snark," where the Boojum represents the most fearsome kind of Snark. We intentionally designed zkSync Era in a way that cryptographic upgrades can be made without a regenesis, meaning that the Boojum upgrade won’t cause any user disruptions. Why Boojum❓ From day one, zkSync’s mission is to advance personal freedom for all — making digital self-ownership universally accessible by building a blockchain network that is trustless, secure, permissionless, affordable, easy to use, resilient and limitlessly scalable. Boojum plays an important role in advancing this mission by delivering: 1. World-class performance zkSync Era’s current SNARK-based proof system is effective today, but it won’t scale to the volume that we envision for hyperchains. zkSync Era’s sequencer can already process over 100 TPS; Boojum orders of magnitude improvements to performance complements this well. 2. Reduced hardware requirements for decentralization Our long-term goal is to enable user-powered, decentralized proof generation. Boojum represents a breakthrough in this direction — with the prover running on consumer-grade GPUs requiring only 16 GB GPU RAM. Boojum’s Journey to Mainnet 🚴🏽‍♀️ Boojum is now live on Mainnet, generating and verifying ‘shadow proofs’ today with real production data so that we can carefully test the system ahead of fully migrating. Today, we’re also open-sourcing the repo; if you’d like to take a look, you can find it here 👇 This is the first of a series of posts on Boojum. We will provide updates on our progress, including more details on implementation, security, and performance. Watch here for more, anon ∎

ZK Stack is a modular framework for building sovereign ZK-powered hyperchains, based on zkSync Era’s open source code. ➡️ Visit the new ZK Stack resource page: ZK Stack gives builders full sovereignty, ranging from the choice of the data availability mode to using your project's own token to decentralize the sequencer. ✅ Mature and battle-tested ZK Stack is the most battle-tested framework, ensuring all transactions are fully verified by Ethereum with the power of ZK proofs. ZK enables validity proofs to ensure the hyperchains' ecosystem state can't be corrupted and invalid transactions can't exist. ZK Stack has been further strengthened by $5M+ invested in audits, $~30M transactions-per-month and ~250k daily active users. ✅ Tailored to your needs ZK Stack grants you full autonomy to tailor your blockchain to cater to your product or protocol use case. A modular stack of ZK-powered components. ✅ Ready for mainstream adoption No matter how much adoption grows, ZK Stack brings the power of horizontal scalability to Ethereum. Just like adding more servers to address specific needs on the Internet, a boundless amount of hyperchains can be created with minimal costs. ZK tech, combined with our state diffs and data-compression approaches, unlocks: 📌 Flat fees regardless of gas price 📌 Privacy by default 📌 Cheap oracles (or any high-frequency protocol) 📌 Ultra low cost Validium accounts 📌 UX magic with native account abstraction ✅ Seamless access to users and liquidity Hyperchains are seamlessly interconnected with hyperbridges — the native and trustless communication protocol of the ZK Stack. It enables any chain to natively exchange messages and transfer value with any other chain, thus tapping into the users and liquidity of the entire hyperchain ecosystem. Unlike classic, centralized, bridges, hyperbridges rely solely on cryptography for security. ✅ Built today, to last forever ZK Stack is rooted in the long-term vision of Ethereum, aiming for subtraction and decentralization. Abiding by the ZK Credo principles, an alliance of developers and maintainers will guarantee the resources enabling this fully open source framework to evolve to onboard the needs of the next billion users.
