Outcomes following my meeting with Defence Minister, Luke Pollard on Monday 👇🏽 🗣️ Together with locals Jeannette Towey, CrowboroughShield & Michael Lunn, I pressed the Minister about the provisions for our Crowborough Cadets. Previously, the Home Office suggested that the Cadets could continue operating from the site after it would accommodate 600 male asylum seekers. On Monday, it was confirmed that: 👉🏽 The Crowborough Cadets will not be operating from the site, starting 5th December. 👉🏽 A new site will be secured for them. 👉🏽 As a result our my pressure, the MoD have now written to Cadets’ leadership, volunteers and parents. Protestors have been gathering outside a military training camp in Crowborough in East Sussex where around 27 asylum seekers are currently being housed. The government intends to use the camp to accommodate up to 500 people. Yesterday three people were arrested for disorder outside the camp.

Local MP Mark Pritchard has raised concerns in Parliament about Home Office plans to house asylum seekers in Stoke Heath, near Market Drayton. Stoke Heath has around 60 homes, with plans being pushed to place up to 121 asylum seekers in the village. Shropshire Council says it does not know exactly who will be moved in and insists the decision is being made by the Home Office, not the council itself. Local residents are demanding answers about the impact on housing, services and the safety of their community. We must offer our support whenever it’s needed, as with Crowborough. This is unacceptable.

I was asked by Crowborough women and Cadet families to come and join them on the march to highlight the impact on our community and Air & Army Cadets. The majority of people attending the march are locals who are feeling blindsided and ignored by the Home Office and Wealden District Council LibDem and Green couch councillors who are missing in action locally and won't meet local residents. They won't even represent locals by taking legal action against the Home Office to stop this. I’m grateful for the work that has been done by local Cllrs Andrew Wilson and Cllr Michael Lunn in the absence of any action from WDC. 🚫 I won’t be pressured into silence. Across Sussex, people have real concerns about what is happening around Crowborough Barracks. They are asking reasonable questions and they deserve straight answers. I have been admonished for speaking up about those concerns. But if you try to admonish the person raising the questions on the public’s behalf, you are effectively admonishing the public for asking them in the first place. This is not about personal politics. It is about respect. Residents should be able to voice worries without being dismissed, and public bodies should respond with transparency, not defensiveness. So I will keep standing with local people, and I will keep pushing for clear answers. Do you share these concerns and what is the one question you want answered most?

I want to highlight this: Town of Marat in Deirezzor - members of the SDF have set up meetings with the residents there to discuss and talk with them. Here one of the residents says to the official „We don’t want you here, we want the Free Syrian Army“ - his opinion shall not be the focus here. I’d like to ask: Where else in Syria? Where in Syria can a men say to their administration that he doesn’t want him there? Where can a men in Syria raise his voice at a soldier? Where in Syria does the administration go from village to village to talk with the residents? Where in Syria does anyone care what the residents think? Where in Syria does an administration exist who tries to solve and include different opinions? Only in the AANES run by the SDF. Do that in an area held by the Turkish led SNA and see how you will be locked up and tortured. Go and do that in areas controlled by the HTS and watch how they’ll behead you. I dare any Syrian to do that.

A concerning recording is circulating of a group of individuals discussing what appear to be plans for altercations with Jews, Muslims, and other migrants in Australia, stating they have had enough. The discussion took place on X Spaces on August 1 from what I can gather. The conversation seems to discuss possible pogroms against Jews and violent uprisings in Melbourne and Sydney against migrants and Aboriginal people. Interwoven within the conversation among members of "The Anti Anti Social Club" are denials of Holocaust atrocities and calls for more people to join a group (which they do not name but seem to refer to as a group labeled as Nazis) to advance their fight. I’m publishing this to try and source the full recording, so if anyone has it, please get in touch, as I would prefer to hear it in its full context. Also happy for anyone that appears in the space recording to correct the record on the comments here. However, based on these snippets, it does seem that an escalation toward violent acts is being openly discussed and planned.
