Danielle Smith: "I've got the security clearance. I'm getting my briefing in the coming weeks. But my public safety minister has already confirmed with the RCMP that there's no evidence at this point that there is any interference from a foreign entity in Alberta politics."

The Foreign Affairs Minister, Anita Anand was repeatedly grilled by Canadian reporters in Mumbai today. It was a car-crash interview as she failed to answer one simple question with a yes or no. She failed to clarify if she did or did not agree with unnamed Canadian officials that stated on Wednesday that Carney would not be travelling to India if the Indian government was still involved in political interference, violence and transnational repression targeting Sikh activists and businesses as she knows there is plenty of evidence and intelligence held by RCMP / GRC and CSIS that this remains a serious and real threat. This missed opportunity to set the record straight now guarantees Canadian reporters will pose the same question to Mark Carney at the press conference on Monday unless a written statement is urgently issued to clarify the false statement made by Canadian officials. Anita Anand’s reputation has been severely damaged as it would have been much easier to distance herself from the naïve comments by the officials.

Nearly 20 years of service in the intelligence community ended for Julia Curlee last year. Curlee was the first CIA officer to transition openly and continue serving the agency until she was fired abruptly early in President Donald Trump’s second term. She writes about being targeted as a transgender woman in an essay for The Atlantic titled “The wrong kind of American.” Watch amna's interview with Curlee.

Today, I continued the reset of our state governance system. I am grateful to Oleksiy Danilov for his service as Secretary of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council. He will now work on a new direction; more details will follow. I appointed Oleksandr Lytvynenko as the new NSDC Secretary. He will apply his experience as the head of Ukraine's Foreign Intelligence Service to the Council's current tasks. Oleh Ivaschenko has been appointed as the new head of Foreign Intelligence; he has relevant experience. In general, I anticipate further strengthening of our state's strategic capabilities in assessing and influencing processes critical to our national security. The strengthening of Ukraine and the renewal of our state system in all areas will continue.

Sen. Chris Murphy on Tulsi Gabbard not being in the room for the briefing today: “I mean, I've never, ever been part of a major Cabinet-level classified briefing where the director of national intelligence was banned from the room.” (WH says she wasn’t scheduled to be there.)

Some conversations stay with you. She told me about Julia, the woman she loved, the life they built, and the things they had to hide that folks can be more open about today. I will continue to fight for a world where folks can be their authentic selves no matter what.

"I am a strong Canadian, I am a strong Albertan. I understand the frustrations Alberta had after being abused for ten years by an out of touch federal government." Premier Danielle Smith says she sympathizes with people who are angry towards Ottawa, but adds Canada is working better every day than it has in a long time.

I am excited to share that I will be seeking the Ontario Liberal Party | Parti Libéral de l'Ontario nomination in Ottawa Centre. For six years, Ottawa Centre has been ignored. Now is the time for new leadership and real action to ensure that our priorities are the provinces’ priorities. I am ready to be that voice.
