KJ Biermann plans to plead not guilty to all charges at his October 14th arraignment & his lawyer is trying to get his case moved from adult court to juvenile court (there’s different consequences). If KJ is convicted as an adult on the aggravated charges he faces a mandatory minimum 25 years… no parole. KJ’s lawyer is not wanting any videos/ photos of KJ or any minors public because it can be misconstrued, made into memes, and “corrupts the pool of witnesses and creates fear.” KJ’s lawyer learned information about the case via the media. The prosecutor asked for the maximum bond and for KJ to wear an ankle monitor 24/7. She requested the monitor reports be sent directly to her office. The prosecutor also requested for KJ to not have any contact with anyone, girl or boy, under the age of 18. I think it was set to 16. I agree with our youth leader Salam Mustapha, you don’t treat one of the biggest exports of this country in this manner. You are investigating, he’s not yet charged nor sentenced and so if you set such unrealistic bail conditions as a way of punishing him then you are only Seeking to destroy his career and nothing else. First they came for their opponents in politics, whiles the bat up journalists and now they have moved towards our creative arts. Let’s speak up and stop this arbitrariness before it swallows us all. Prosecute the person all you want, investigate the person all you want but do not weaponise bail conditions as a way of keeping citizens in custody. That’s not rule of law, that’s abuse of law.
