Sei just published a major upgrade to its trading-focused blockchain Sei's Giga Whitepaper V2 landed today, the first update since the original dropped in May 2025. Target finality drops to sub-250ms, down from 400ms, while holding 200,000+ TPS. The headline addition is Sedna, a new private transaction layer. Transactions get fragmented and spread across multiple proposer lanes so no single proposer sees the full trade before it's finalized. Paired with deterministic ordering across those lanes, Sei says it nearly eliminates MEV and censorship risk, the stuff that's kept institutional traders off most L1s. The upgrade is designed to land without a regenesis or taking the network offline.
