Here’s the sad thing. When I was little and Sonic was less popular, I really wanted more merch stuff, specifically like toys, and I also wish that the franchise was more popular and less hated. I got my wish at the expense of the franchise becoming super corpo💀

Some companies really wish they made stuff that can be as marketable as Sonic. R&C only got a few under the PS3 era. Even Crash actually got a toyline then and one wave of five figures and it was dead for 9 years.

There’s a difference between monetising and selling out. Sega obviously still cares about what is done with the Sonic IP. Otherwise they wouldn’t have bothered of finding an excuse of Sonic to use a gun in Fortnite
