Javier Milei's tailoring is bad in ways that need no explanation, but the reason why people react positively to the King of Spain's outfits may not be immediately obvious. Last week, the Spanish media released a video of the King celebrating as the national team qualified for the World Cup finals. In the video, we see a rare moment when the King is not wearing a tailored jacket but rather a very simple, casual jersey. Here, you can see the King's actual physical form. He's tall and lean but not particularly muscular. I suspect that if he dressed this way most of the time — slim jeans with a football jersey, or perhaps a t-shirt — no one would really remark on his style. On the second slide, you can see the King as he normally appears in the media, and suddenly he looks much better. Yes, it helps to be tall, handsome, and even bearded, but here the tailoring is doing the heavy lifting. There are some obvious things, such as the precision of the tailoring. Everything fits cleanly without much puckering or pulling. The collar hugs the neck. The jacket also covers his seat, which allows the buttoning point to be placed just below the narrowest part of his torso. This button placement elongates the lapel line and allows the waist to be cinched a bit tighter. But there are also less obvious things. Compare the broadness of this shoulder line to the video of him just wearing a jersey. The chest also curves outward slightly, making him look much more muscular. The result is a V-shaped silhouette sitting on what would be a set of columnar legs (if you could see them in the photo). As I've explained before, this is entirely the effect of good tailoring. The combination of shoulder pads, wadding, and ironwork creates that molded shoulder line. The sculpted chest is created using haircloth, canvas, pad stitching, and ironwork. You can see this in the third slide, where the innards of a suit jacket are exposed. If you hold up a T-shirt, dress shirt, polo shirt, or soccer jersey like this, it will not hang the same way because the material is limp and lacks structure. Being muscular and wearing tight suits will not achieve the same effect. On the contrary, it will produce exactly the opposite. You can see this in the fourth slide with Conor McGregor. Here, we get three things. First, the shrunken tailoring produces all sorts of ripples and wrinkles. Second, the small jacket actually hides the V-shaped figure underneath. Third, and perhaps most importantly, he looks tight and uncomfortable. Whereas the King always looks confident and at ease — making his style appear effortless — McGregor here looks forced and contrived. This is not to say that slim-fit tailoring (or slim-fit clothing in general) is always bad. They can look great on certain figures. I'm only trying to highlight an important principle: the point of clothing, whether suits or otherwise, is not always to recreate your physical form. A bomber jacket can have a rounded silhouette; an overcoat can have an elongating silhouette; a suit can have a V-shaped silhouette. All of these are ways that clothes can give different impressions other than your corporal form. One of the most common misconceptions I see on Twitter is people who think clothes "fit badly" because they don't exactly conform to the person's figure underneath. They assume, for instance, that a shoulder seam must end at your shoulder bone. Not so. Every aesthetic — whether traditional tailoring or counter-cultural — has its own rules for fit, silhouette, and styling. A good outfit is about knowing how to communicate in those visual languages. The King's style is broadly well-received because he's communicating in a hegemonic visual language. Everyone understands classic tailoring to be "good," just like how many people think Received Pronunciation is "correct." But there are, in fact, many different visual languages, none more legitimate than the other, even if they may not play a hegemonic role. Baggy jeans may look great in certain aesthetics for reasons not dissimilar to the principles discussed here.

The lack of perceived value of the LIV Golf League and its teams has attracted a lot of attention over the past few years. But Bryson DeChambeau’s Crushers GC have been one of the most successful franchises and he says they’ve cleared more than $20 million in revenue: “I'll tell you from our side of the coin, that the Crushers have been doing very well. We hired a GM and we’re hiring more people this year, but it's slow. I'm not over expanding too quick, like some teams, and I feel like we're a lean, mean machine. It's done great and we've been having positive EBITDA, positive for the past few seasons and our revenue is above $20 million, which is amazing. And next year it's going to be even more. “So, I'm pretty pumped about our team, and what we have the capability of doing. You know me, I'm always optimistic. I always want to see the best in people, and want to see how to create the most value. So, all I can speak for is how I run the team and what we've done economically for the team has been.. quite amazing. “You know, it’s been a lot of work, but I'm personally stoked for how my GM is running the team and how we we're running as, you know, I can be quite honest, we're doing the best out of any team. So, I'm really, really happy about that. And, I wouldn't be doing this any other way.” The $20 million figure caught me off guard, and I’m sure it will many others. Especially with so much being reported about the lack of revenue within the league. This once again proves Bryson’s value and highlights the strong position he is in with his contract negotiations. While we’re on contacts, is Bryson bringing back Paul Casey, Charles Howell III and Anirban Lahiri to Crushers GC in 2026? “Yes, the same guys are coming back. Yeah, I love them to death and they're great people, great golfers.” And while we talk about changes, does Bryson think LIV Golf could improve on anything? “Yeah, I mean, there’s plenty of things that the PGA Tour could improve on, right? And I can go through a bucket of that with that tour, and I could do the same with LIV, right? “Nobody's perfect. No organisation's perfect. But I could tell you that the opportunities at LIV and the ability to grow team golf is so intriguing and so interesting to me that that's where I stake my home and ground there. It’s where I want to be, but ultimately, it's got to make sense for everybody. Because I could just do YouTube golf and be totally fine as well.” He went on develop that answer when asked about whether he thinks a deal to renew his contact could be completed before the first event of the LIV Golf League season in Riyadh, in February: “I don't know about before Riyadh, there's a lot of things to go through.. You know, it's a scenario that is very unique. With Brooks leaving it definitely throws in some unique things. And look, I mean, like I've said all along, I want to do this, I want to grow team golf across the globe. But it has to be right. And there's a lot of things that have to be done in order for it to be right, you know? “Things have got to change. Things have got to improve. And I think Scott's done a fabulous job with the year that he's had. And I think this year's going to be even better, now he's got the right people in place and he can run the organisation, the way he wants to do this here. So it's going to be interesting to see, especially with the new branding coming on. It's going to be interesting to see what happens. “I don't run this thing at all. I don't really have much say to be honest with you. Which is funny, but it is what it is, right? And, you know, I sometimes wish I had more say, but that's life and I don't run the organisation and I trust them to do that. “Ultimately, I just go play golf and try to entertain as best as I possibly can. So I trust Scott and Katie and Chris, everybody there to make the right decisions and continue to go forward with that. And we'll see what the year has in store for us.” Bryson DeChambeau

Learning From The Outliers This is 17 year old Dylan Block (Michael’s son) hitting 122mph club head speed and 182mph ball speed with a 3 wood. I slowed down the video so you can get a good look at what he does in transition. It is amazing. Towards the end of the backswing you can see how high he gets his hands, and how far towards vertical his left arm gets. Then we can see a beautiful sequence of events, as he slightly bends his knees, which will set him up for a very powerful mini vertical jump later, and builds lots of pressure under his lead foot. (The pressure will actually have started building under his lead foot in the later stages of the backswing). Most of you will be aware of the term “kinematic sequence” which was made popular by TPI , and this refers to the order in which different segments of the body move in the downswing. The most efficient sequences see an unwinding order of pelvis, toros, lead arm, club. In super fast players, it is also common to see them create a big big stretch between these segments. There is a big stretch across the: Pelvis and torso Torso and lead arm Lead arm and wrist There are even more, including the pelvis getting further away from the hands in a vertical fashion, further stretching the torso. There is also the rapid stretch of the quads and calves / Achilles from the rapid “mini squat” which will enable them push off the ground really hard at the right time to aid in the momentum the body can transfer to the club. Muscles can contract more forcefully when they are preceded by a quick stretch. It takes advantage of something called the “Stretch Shortening Cycle” which is a little bit like a sling shot affect. Stretch, then fire. In the golf swing, because there are SO MANY muscles and joints involved, with elite technique like this you can take advantage of many different stretch shortening cycles. This is a key reason why some players who don’t appear very big or very strong can generate such amazing speed. (Being really strong would probably be additive and help reduce injury risk) The sequence of segment unwinding in the downswing is exactly what you want, and they enhance it by creating so much stretch between the segments. Look at how many frames there is in transition before the club head starts rotating about the shaft back down towards the ball. It is very “late”. This is the opposite of what you see with many amateurs who get to the top and immediately “throw” the club head and spin the upper body open. There is then no stretch between the segments, and all the energy is wasted early. This is a great example of amazing swing mechanics, elite mobility, and probably great genetics all interacting. I can’t stress enough how impressive this speed is at 17, while looking so “effortless”. Thanks to Sasho MacKenzie and Young-Hoo Kwon for helping me understand golf biomechanics better. Can U believe it? 'Op Nalla' just took 30 seconds? In 30 seconds, .Amit Shah Ji & Delhi Police Commissioner wound up months-old plan of burning Bharat 😂 Reportedly- 👉At 3 am Saturday—almost 4 hrs before Nalla Sonam was picked up like a stray dog from the Jantar Mantar protest site by Delhi Police—all personnel of New Delhi district police assembled. 👉They were told it's for a security drill in Parliament before the Monsoon Session. 👉Then they were taken to Mandir Marg police station, where they were informed that Operation is to remove Nalla Sonam from Jantar Mantar within “30 seconds”. 👉One team was stationed outside the flat where Abhijeet Dipke goes to have rangraliyan every night. 👉Minutes before Wangchuk’s removal, the police installed a phone jammer in the area. 👉Around 6.30 am, they quickly placed a white curtain across the stage and removed Nalla—before anyone could see what was going on behind the curtain. 👉Nalla was zapped. Cockroach Dipke was shocked to see police outside his 'night hideout'. Expected Delhi Police to arrest him. Instead, Police dropped him at Jantar Mantar to replace one stray dog with other. All efforts to create tension defused in one instance. Choosing right man for the right post is most important job for a Minister. Mota Bhai proved it by appointing Anurag Kumar (with IB experience) for the post & he delivered perfectly.... In just 30 seconds.
