teaching by example is one of the strongest ways for teaching others how to learn, even dogs, we actually got our dog to ring a bell when she needed to go out by ringing it every time before we would say go on a walk and then grab the leash so she associated it with walking and would let us know when she needed to go out after a while.

used to hang a sleigh bell on the door. This is how I taught our dogs to ring when they needed to go out. Then one got savvy and realized the humans come to him when the bell rings, so he started ringing just because he wanted a treat. 🙄🤣
