CVS has been installing these new “chime” security devices in their candy isles If you want to get candy, you must lift the plastic and it notifies the store you got candy with a “chime” noise There isn’t a lock, it’s just an audible sound to alert the store.... show more

Everyone look at this Fatass in the candy aisle!

If the fatsos think this is fat shaming then what does that say about mindset. 😂😏

Can we add this to the soda isle too? Add it to all junk food.

I wonder who is insanely disproportionately responsible for stealing candy?

Interesting idea but I suspect that the noises will be ignored, much like smoke detectors in need of fresh batteries.

Should do this when it opens.

NGL I like the fat shaming angle. Maybe instead of a chime, we have it play the Dr Phil meme "You're fat. Don't sugarcoat it, or you'll eat that too"

Well it’s a theft deterrent. It’s not about fat people it’s about the stolen food. Have you seen someone steal a bag of broccoli or lettuce recently? I’ve seen people steal candy and chips.

CVS gives rewards for filling prescriptions. Calls 'em ExtraBucks. Can spend on anything in the store. Majority share of ExtraBucks spent on candy. Fill prescriptions -> Get candy. Perverse system. CVS stopped selling tobacco. Now it pushes sugar.

Another clue to crime in a city is...if they lock the restroom doors and you need to use a "code" to get in. I love visiting states with "lock free" public restrooms. It's how American life should be. Not locked up grocery store items and locked bathrooms!

The last cvs I went into you had to have an employee unlock everything but food items 🤣

ROFLOL Like people can't just look at someone and know if they are not eating correctly OR stand at the cash register and see what they are buying. IF someone's conscience is making them "feel" guilty reaching for candy, that is their fault and no one else's.

@YvonneGraham7 Go to Home Depot and be cordless tool shamed.

We have to live like this because brain dead sheep keep voting democrat while deadbeat rinos other brain dead sheep keep voting for support them.

THE SNAP BENEFIT ACCESS TO THE CANDY AISLE WAS CUT-OFF, BUT WE HAVE SEEN THE VIDEOS FROM THE INFLATABLES, FROM A SPECIFIC DEMOGRAPHIC, THREATENING THEFT, SINCE DAY ONE.

Fat shaming? How about poison shaming. CVS locking up seed oils, artificial dyes, and HFCS is a public health service. If a chime goes off when you grab candy in 2026 and your first reaction is embarrassment instead of "why am I still eating this" — that's the real problem.

for those of you can’t figure out this is why we had segregation to begin with. and it needs to come the back, Fuck Niggеrs.

It’s not “fat shaming”. Bagged candy’s are some of the easiest items to steal and conceal from the store

All this because they won't lock up or flog niggers for stealing

"Thou shall not steal" Has nothing to do with fat shaming. People feeling some type of way might want to look inward as to why they feel such.

Coincidentally you can’t buy these with food stamps anymore so theft skyrocketed?

"Hey, get a load of the human tripod over here buying the extra large condoms!"

So just pull all kinds of it out and sit it around the store hahahhaha

salt and sugar bombs will destroy your future

Probably more to do with theft or the political term inventory shrinkage. But the smarter option is to avoid this industrial ag, highly processed, chemistry concoctions. Fat shaming probably comes from doing bad you know is bad and now being reminded everyone knows it is bad.

We are worse than 3rd world. 😂

Well, at least your not waiting for 20 minutes because its locked up.

Just close the damn store. Easier that way🙄

Actually what it is leading to is identity. Like China if you are not permitted to purchase anything due to your non compliance . You can be locked out of your car(hence the new ford camera) bank card, door locks, anything WiFi / surveillance/ flocking /ring door bells

Kids should stop stealing candy. The most addictive substance. @cvspharmacy my dad went on an escapade with his walker to CVS 2 days ago to buy candy. With his dupuytren's contracture, it may be difficult for him to operate this. Thankfully he is in a safe, low crime town that doesn't have this.

Sad our stores have had to do this.

Like since 2019?

There is also a high res camera that records the second you lift it.
