If you are under the impression this is the exception as opposed to the rule, I suggest you pay close attention to the behavior of the Correction Officers that quite literally beat the life out of shackled inmate Robert Brooks on the evening of December 10, 2024. The body worn camera footage tells no lies, as the callousness and brutality that is captured is revolting. Changing gloves, smiling, all while pummeling a defenseless person and not one of them steps up to even attempt to stop the atrocities that are occurring. When the captors become more depraved than the people they are holding captive there is a serious problem with the system.

Former Mid-State Correctional Facility guard Jonah Levi was one of the guards who beat inmate Messiah Nantwi to death. Nantwi was hit 69 times with batons, feet, and fists.
