Cybercab is individualized point-to-point autonomous transport

So, in short, Cybercab is a cab.

This only works in a homogenous society. This level of trust, happiness and cohesion.

It will be life changing for people who live in the outer boroughs of Manhattan, who have to take a bus to get to a subway to get to a bus to get to work. Cybercab will allow them to go point to point for less than the cost of a MetroCard.

Love the Cybercab vision. Imagine layering something like HARI on top: a cooperative safety + energy-intelligence system that talks with every vehicle, route and charger in the city – predicting risks, smoothing flows and extending battery life for every ride.

Hate to say it… but I can see a feature where Driving a car manually will be relegated to things only done for sport or leisure, but largely outlawed on major roads and streets. I’d imagine if self driving has a no accident rate of 98% or something crazy, then speed limits could increase substantially making it utterly unsafe for self driving, unless you’re used to driving a NASCAR like daily commuter. Looking forward to the future, but will miss manual driving like the horseman missed his horse when he had to replace it for that Ford Model T
