So, in short, Cybercab is a cab.

This only works in a homogenous society. This level of trust, happiness and cohesion.

It will be life changing for people who live in the outer boroughs of Manhattan, who have to take a bus to get to a subway to get to a bus to get to work. Cybercab will allow them to go point to point for less than the cost of a MetroCard.

How will it deal with the idiots that purposefully interfere with it's driving paths? We see what happens to the Waymos.

That’s not transportation… that’s pure sci-fi luxury. No driver, no detours, no “your Uber is 7 minutes away” lies, just you, the destination, and a robot car that does EXACTLY what you want. 🤖🖤

Death of ownership, birth of access. Point-to-point changes everything when you think about land use, parking, congestion. The real win isn't the tech. It's the infrastructure revolution it enables.

Making them not smell will be a key challenge

What will fines be for puking, shitting, and pissing in the cars? Spilled liquor, juice, beer. Making a hole, burning a hole in the seat with a lighter? Someone stabbing the seat, cutting the seat? Cutting seat belts? Things rideshare drivers have dealt with daily in some cities.

Letting the kids drive themselves to school will be a big one.

According to 2022 National Household Travel Survey (NHTS) • 1 Passenger (Solo Driving): ~58% • 2 Passengers: ~24% • 3 Passengers: ~9% • 4+ Passengers: ~9% Cybercab’s 2 seats option is available for most of the passengers

Love the Cybercab vision. Imagine layering something like HARI on top: a cooperative safety + energy-intelligence system that talks with every vehicle, route and charger in the city – predicting risks, smoothing flows and extending battery life for every ride.

Hate to say it… but I can see a feature where Driving a car manually will be relegated to things only done for sport or leisure, but largely outlawed on major roads and streets. I’d imagine if self driving has a no accident rate of 98% or something crazy, then speed limits could increase substantially making it utterly unsafe for self driving, unless you’re used to driving a NASCAR like daily commuter. Looking forward to the future, but will miss manual driving like the horseman missed his horse when he had to replace it for that Ford Model T

This model, based on the Cybercab platform, a 2+2 seater, would sell 15 million units worldwide for under $25,000. In China, for $18,000.

We see so many of these initiatives only at their pilot stage. Ultimately they never materialise, which is quite disappointing.
