Very interesting approach. Privacy has been one of the missing pieces for real-world business adoption, and combining self-custody, encrypted financial data, shielded balances, and ZK proofs into a user-friendly payment experience is a significant step forward. We're strong supporters of products that preserve user sovereignty without sacrificing blockchain verifiability. One question: are the validators securing Cycles Pay publicly operated by independent community validators, or is the validator set primarily foundation-owned/controlled at this stage? This is the first application built on top of the Cycles protocol, a privacy-preserving clearing algorithm that finds loops of mutual debt and settles them without altering what each party is owed on net. Private transactions between wallets now possible on Solana using ZERAs Private Cash Addresses. A closer look at last week’s MVP drop: Private P2P. Most "privacy" on Solana still falls back to withdraw-to-address (recipient + metadata leaks) or multi-step send flows that leave trails. Our P2P is different: one atomic in-pool transaction, the sender’s note is nullified, and two new encrypted notes are created, all inside the vault. No stepping out. No re-deposit choreography. Why it’s so hard to deanonymize: ✅ Your Private Cash Address has zero link to your Solana wallet: it’s an X25519 keypair derived from a wallet signature, and the public key becomes your private address. ✅ Notes are encrypted with NaCl box using a fresh ephemeral key every send, meaning even two payments to the same person looks unrelated. ✅ Recipients discover incoming notes via trial decryption, the chain never learns "who owns what." While we have immense respect for those building privacy on Solana, we are proud to be the first to achieve one-shot, in-pool P2P with full privacy. To our knowledge, this remains an industry first. This is the difference between hiding balances inside a pool and moving value privately between people. Proof-of-Useful-Work forced us to solve a problem ordinary blockchains do not have. A Pearl miner performs large matrix multiplications as part of a real AI workload. Naively, when it finds a valid block, it would need to publish those matrices so the network could verify the computation. The matrices may contain private model data or user information, and a single weight matrix can be tens-to-hundreds of megabytes. Publishing them on-chain would be both prohibitively expensive and a privacy risk. This is why we encapsulated the entire mining computation inside a zk-SNARK. A zk-SNARK can take an arbitrarily complex computation and compress it into a small cryptographic proof. The proof reveals nothing about the underlying matrices, while still allowing the network to verify that the miner found a valid block. Instead of placing tens-to-hundreds of megabytes of potentially sensitive data on-chain, Pearl miners publish a zero-knowledge proof of roughly 60 kilobytes. The blockchain verifies the useful computation without ever seeing the model weights, activations or private data behind it. This is what makes Proof-of-Useful-Work practical at scale: large AI computations happen off-chain, while only a compact, privacy-preserving proof reaches consensus.
