At the BNB Chain hackathon, CZ 🔶 BNB made several very important points about AI trading (Everything in parentheses is my own view and judgment.) He first said that AI will be involved in trading everywhere. Trading itself is already a huge market: there are 300 million users on Binance alone, and if you add the decentralized ecosystems, that number is not small either. In such a mass-market environment, many different trading strategies can work, with countless different coins, different projects, and different ways to play. But there is a big problem here: building commercial AI trading platforms for retail users is actually very hard. If a trading strategy works very well for one person, once a billion people start using the same strategy, that strategy “might still work, or might stop working.” Take copy trading / follow trading as an example: if you buy first and everyone follows you, the first buyer will perform very well, but the last person to follow may not end up with good results. So, with the exact same strategy and the exact same copy logic, the outcomes can be completely different for different people. (On top of that, every strategy also has its own capital capacity limits.) Teams that can really build strong AI are, with high probability, going to trade with their own money. In today’s world, money itself is already somewhat like a “commodity”; many people have a lot of capital, and it’s actually not that hard to raise funds. If you truly have an algorithm that can make a lot of money, it’s not hard to get money and run your own book. There is really only one situation where you would sell this algorithm to mass-market users: for example, if you charge a $10 monthly subscription and can sell it to one million users, then your $10 million monthly subscription revenue is higher than the profit you could make by trading the strategy yourself. (Here this touches one of our earlier theses: as training AI models becomes relatively easier and the supply of models increases, model companies have more incentive to open-source. By analogy, as the production process of trading strategies is increasingly simplified by AI and the supply of strategies explodes, traders will have stronger incentives to monetize by expanding their influence in other words, by “open-sourcing” their strategies.) Of course, CZ did not say that this model can never work. Another path is to build an AI trading platform that lets users tune different AI algorithms, or very easily assemble their own structures and strategies, so that what each person ends up running is different and better tailored to themselves. Some people will make money, some people will lose money, but the platform still has value because it’s very hard for most people to build an AI trading algorithm from scratch. So there are a lot of trade-offs here; it’s not as simple as saying “once AI shows up, everything automatically gets better.” (This is exactly what we presented at the hackathon: you describe your own strategy in natural language, and the AI automatically generates a workflow. The parameters in that workflow, the models used, the logical structure, the APIs it calls, and even the algorithms it invokes are all customizable. The reasons we think workflows are a good way to do this include: controllable execution paths, Lego-like modular nodes, and better visualization that makes it easier for users to build and adjust their workflows.) Finally, his conclusion was very clear: it’s not that AI will definitely make trading better, and it’s not that AI will definitely make things worse. Rather, no matter what, in the future a huge number of people will use AI to trade. This will be a very large field, and whoever can build the best algorithms will make a lot of money.

I can only confirm what he says here: THE SETUP: MAXIMUM HATRED ✅ For 10 years, this sector has been a graveyard. Sentiment is below zero. ✅ Institutions hate them. Retail is bored. Valuations are at Great Depression levels. ➡️ This is exactly why they are about to explode. The biggest moves come from the most compressed springs. THE MATH: OPERATING LEVERAGE IS MAGIC Imagine a miner with a cost of $20/oz. ➡️ At $22 silver, profit = $2/oz. 🚀 At $30 silver, profit = $10/oz. 💥 Silver rose 36%, but profit rose 400%. 🚀 At $50 silver, profit = $30/oz. 💥 Silver doubled, but profit exploded 1,400%. This is how 10x, 20x, even 50x stock moves happen. The stock chases cash flow. THE CATALYST: A LIQUIDITY SQUEEZE ✅ The float is tiny. The ask disappears. The melt-up begins. THE WARNING: THIS IS A WIDOWMAKER ❌ Bad management, jurisdiction risk, financing risk, and scams are everywhere. ✅ Mitigate with diversification. Buy a basket. Use ETFs. Never bet your mortgage. ✅ Position size wisely. This is the speculative portion of your portfolio. THE EXIT: DON’T BE A BAGHOLDER ✅ Have a plan. Sell into strength. THE BOTTOM LINE Junior silver miners are a hated, leveraged, and tiny sector sitting at the epicenter of a potential silver supercycle. In trading, the common advice is to control two emotions - fear and greed. However, for nearly every trader I've encountered, including myself, anger and depression remain as constant undertones. They are the primary drivers of superperformance. Here's how: ✉️ I am usually a calm and happy person, and very rarely lose my temper. Despite the many years spent honing the craft of trading, I've never truly felt the overt confidence or exuberance that many fintwits often exhibit. Even though the primal errors have been eliminated and my game has transitioned to mental and emotional acuity, there are often times when I feel angry and frustrated with my performance, despite reaching new highs in my equity curve. It was during a Kristjan Kullamägi 🇺🇦 stream, where he discussed his mental state during his trading journey, that I recognized blind spots in my own trading. In poker terms, I'm an internal 'tilter' - I conceal my anger and frustration. Rather than showing external reactions, I become quieter and tenser. This change shows up in my risk-taking behaviour, as I start to take lower open risk or prematurely sell off profitable positions. However, this is a common phenomenon amongst traders, regardless of their experience and skill level. It was brilliantly conceptualized by Daniel Kahneman and Amos Tversky in the Prospect Theory. Pain of losing > Joy of winning Consider an investor presented with two pitches for the same mutual fund: 1) Mutual Fund XYZ has averaged a return of 10% per annum over the last 3 years. 2) Mutual Fund XYZ has returned 25%, 15%, and -10% over the last 3 years. Both options essentially mean the same (ignoring compounding). However, most people choose option 1 over option 2. This is due to the Prospect theory, which states that people tend to pick options that show perceived gains rather than losses. Even when probabilities and outcomes are identical, individuals tend to prefer options that steer clear of potential losses. The theory suggests that losses have a more significant emotional impact on an individual than an equivalent amount of gains. The emotional toll of getting stopped out at (-) 1R is much higher than the satisfaction of a trade where you gain (+) 1R. Therefore, like most traders, if your win rate fluctuates between 35-65%, it still has a net negative impact on your emotional state. The influence of Prospect Theory is particularly significant in trading, where we risk not just our capital, but also our emotional well-being, effort, and time. Even in a job you dislike, you still receive a paycheck at the end of the month. However, in trading, losses and the uncertainty of profits affect us more deeply because a good effort doesn't always yield a positive outcome. The joy of winning doesn't fully compensate for the pain, especially when both outcomes stem from the same process. Winning becomes more about escaping the distress of losing than generating happiness in itself. However, Prospect Theory simply describes a pattern of human behavior. It's not an immutable law like gravity - behaviors can be identified and changed. Mapping Tilt In a bull market such as the current one, the tilt often isn't about stop losses, but rather about missed opportunities and profits. It's exciting to see the price rapidly increase when you enter a clean breakout, reaching multiples of your R within minutes. Unrealized profit often feels like it's already yours. However, as soon as the positions start turning against you, tilt seeps in because it feels like your money is being taken away. These are precisely the moments of weakness when you lose sight of your trade objective and settle for smaller profits. At the end of the day, or when you step back from the overflow of tilt, you estimate how much your portfolio could have grown if you had just held on to that position. This is a fool's errand. Knowing the right course of action in retrospect is fundamentally different from knowing what to do beforehand. Even though you understand this, a part of you can't resist indulging in the fantasy, which in turn increases your frustration. This is an excerpt from my earlier notes on how I mapped out my problem. The mental framework is based on what I learned from Jared Tendler 's excellent book, "The Mental Game of Trading." 1) What’s the problem: When I'm up in a trade, I believe I've earned the profits because of the hard work I put into identifying opportunities and adhering to my process. I don't want the price to drop back to my cost. If it does, all my efforts would be wasted and I wouldn't even secure the minimal profit I'm entitled to. 2) Why does the problem exist: I start to contemplate the utility value of the money - the unrealized profit equates to 3 months of my home loan EMI, 8 months of rent, or a family vacation. I believe I am deserving of a reward for my diligent effort and execution, and I am unwilling to let it slip away. 3) What is flawed: The aim of my trading isn't to support my everyday expenses or lifestyle, but instead to build generational wealth. By taking smaller profits prematurely, I'm limiting the leverage that could magnify the returns on my effort and time - same input with disproportionately larger output. The unrealised profit is not my money yet. 4) What’s the correction: Realised profit is the only profit that truly matters. A trade isn't successful when it becomes risk-free, but when you can leverage unrealised profits to achieve larger realised profits. 5) What logic confirms this correction: It is easy to start trading but easier to settle for mediocrity once you have started. Scaling up your portfolio will require you to overcome mental barriers more than technical ones. You also didn't learn to drive just to stay in second gear. Closing Note Anger arises when underlying flaws, biases, or illusions conflict with reality. At a fundamental level, anger represents this conflict which every elite performer has used as a core trigger to channel their performance. Don't be swayed by the false bravado and portrayed perfection on social media. Superperformance as a trader involves enduring trials by fire, which regularly include prolonged bouts of anger and frustration. 15 YEARS OF TRADING ADVICE I started trading in 2011, and my first lesson was brutal but simple: trust the process and focus on getting better every day. My start was awful. Real-time trading was fast, chaotic, and unforgiving. I hesitated on entries, chased moves, and held losers far past my stop. I made the same mistakes over and over. Before long, I was at the back of my training class at Trillium Trading. Progress didn’t come from trading more — it came when I stepped back and built a framework for improvement: deliberate practice, structured review, and systemizing my work. I wasn’t making money yet, but my win rate and consistency were improving. That mattered. In 2012, I learned something that changed everything: most profits come from very few opportunities. I coined the “Broken Slot Machine” concept and drastically narrowed my focus to in-play stocks — names with exceptional volume, volatility, or fresh news. Cutting out noise was a turning point. I still trade this way today. 2013 was my breakthrough year. I stopped chasing complexity and built a small playbook of “easy money” trades — simple, repeatable setups with defined risk. A few mean-reversion plays. Small, consistent wins. Fewer unforced errors. That’s when my PNL finally stabilized and my confidence started compounding. In 2014, I nearly blew up my career. A fat-tail after-hours loss wiped out over $100K in minutes. That drawdown forced me to build strict drawdown protocols — daily, weekly, and monthly loss limits with zero exceptions. Those rules didn’t just save my career — they’ve saved countless others since. By 2015, I shifted my mindset away from obsessing over PNL and toward improving expected value every day — what I now call the Bobblehead Concept. Red days became feedback. Growth became the metric. That mindset carried me through the emotional swings of trading. In 2016, I learned how much environment matters. Trading isn’t purely an individual sport. Being surrounded by serious traders — sharing ideas, accountability, and lessons — accelerated growth faster than anything else. In 2017, I adopted the Daily Report Card habit. Daily reflection. One improvement at a time. Treating trading like a professional athlete reviewing game film. This single habit was foundational to everything that followed. In 2018, I stopped trying to be early. I learned to wait for the right side of the V — letting moves exhaust before entering. Risk dropped. Win rate rose. Size increased. Being right mattered more than being first. From 2019 onward, it was about 1% improvements, adaptability, and pressing size only when edge was extreme. 2020 rewarded preparation. After almost 10 years of trading, COVID hit and it was a day trader's dream market. Most traders scale linearly, but the real outlier performance comes from identifying when you have an A+ setup and absolutely maximizing it. Doing so allowed me to have my first year making over $10m in PNL. By 2021, my technical skills were dialed in. What mattered most was psychology and performance optimization. I realized that how I managed my mental game determined how consistently I could execute at the highest level. Once you have edge, your mental state is what determines how consistently you stick to your system and capture the opportunities in front of you. Strong mental game allows you to avoid FOMO, ragetrading, and other bad habits that leech our PNL. 2022 the markets slowed down and punished many that didn't adapt. I realized that survival in trading isn’t about always being aggressive—it’s about trading based on what the market requires of you. The best traders don’t try to force the market to fit them, they fit their trading to the market and evolve faster than everyone else. 2023 I started allocating more energy toward swing trading—holding positions for days rather than seconds or minutes. This, coupled with selling options premium, gave me the space to step back, zoom out, and build a more sustainable lifestyle. I was no longer glued to the screen 10 hours a day. It reminded me that trading is a means to an end. 2024, I pushed myself to go beyond stocks. I dove deeper into options, futures, and overnight trading. exposed to the world the first mistake that bankrupts most manual traders is the inability to act fast enough when the trend shifts. when you build a bot the first thing you need to master is the market order because it allows you to enter or exit a position instantly regardless of the price. it is the ultimate panic button for when a strategy goes south or a massive opportunity presents
