Interestingly, in Czech the term “stepping stone” has a meaning akin to “springboard” eg. an advancement in their career. It doesn’t have the negative connotation of being “temporary” UTB

I think he means "next step in my career" having listened to it a few times. Easy to mix up sayings when its someone's second language. Great signing!

No issue with him saying "stepping stone". If he moves to a bigger club it's because he's performed extremely well here, that can only benefit us. I'm sure it's the same with Lankshear, he'll want to play for England one day, that won't happen if he's stuck in the Championship.
