Acceptable? It's not about acceptable. As a dad of 3 boys, they get the idea they run the show. I had a 6'3" 270 pound kid push me. You can't let that slide, I went up along side his head. Until they know there's going to be an immediate response to their challenge, it gets worse

Discipline is needed, problem is “ he gave him pass after pass after pass” so the kid didn’t learn any lessons when he was doing all those bad things. Instead he learned that there were no consequences for his behavior or words. The real world has real consequences and unfortunately on this day this kid learned about those consequences. I never condone violence. I hope that change happens within this kid that he can’t treat his family like that, his mother and father like that. I hope the father decided to be consistent and actually correct and raise his son the right way.
