That’s how it was in my parents’ house. I’d argue with Mom (and occasionally talk back to her, NOT when Dad was around) but I obeyed Dad. He didn’t yell but he’d give me The Look that said “I’m so disappointed in your behavior.”

Ignorant parents know no other way to deal with their young children, some as young as ten, than by yelling like animals. Family specialists have exhausted all their efforts trying to explain how to raise them.
