P A L E S T I N I A N S C R E A T E D T H E C H E C K P O I N T S Before the first intifada there were no checkpoints. > Israelis shopped at markets in Gaza and West Bank. > Israelis shopped at Palestinian Arab restaurants > Palestinians had free access to Israel and went to their beaches and restaurants. After the violence - bombing of buses, restaurants and suicide bombing and murders - the checkpoints went up. You can thank the Palestinian intifadas for that. You can thank Palestinian Arab leaders for creating the need for checkpoints.
