Dame Maggie Smith (1934-2024)

RIP Legend

This will not sink in for a long, long time yet. Her presence on-screen was peerless: funny, fierce, irascible &, gentle or caustic; always timed her characters’ one-liners absolutely perfectly. Never met her, but did see her, at the 2016 @BAFTAs. @hookmovie is my favourite. ⚔️

The lesson - perhaps celebrate the greats before their death.

So grateful that I was there that day. She was wonderful.

They just loved each a great generation of great brilliant actresses that show with Joan Plowright and I think Eileen Atkins was brilliant
