🎙️Cash Controls, App-Store Censorship & the Battle for Privacy Ep. 110 with Lea from Vexl My guest today is Lea Petrasova, co-founder and CEO of Vexl, a peer-to-peer bitcoin app that lets people exchange bitcoin privately, without identification (KYC) or any middlemen. Lea is a prominent voice in the European cypherpunk community, dedicated to privacy, digital freedom, and restoring bitcoin’s original peer-to-peer design. We discuss why identity-linked bitcoin undermines true self-custody, how tightening cash controls and app-store censorship accelerate financial surveillance, and why Vexl chose to remain open-source and non-profit. Lea explains Vexl’s reputation-based trust model, the real risks of “dirty fiat,” and the growing global push toward CBDCs and digital IDs. We also explore how Vexl is evolving into a local marketplace for everything from food to services to hardware, showing how private, person-to-person exchange can quietly rebuild resilient, grassroots economies. → Please like, comment, share & follow - to help me beat the suppressing big tech algorithms & gov. censorship. If there’s one lesson people are beginning to realize about modern technology, it’s this: The devices we rely on every day aren’t just tools. They’re surveillance systems. 👉 Learn more: Your phone tracks your location. Your apps collect your behavior. And now, AI integrated directly into your computer can record what you do on your screen every few seconds. Your emails. Your messages. Your searches. Even things you type but never send. That isn’t speculation. It’s the direction Big Tech has already taken. And the uncomfortable truth is that the people building these systems know exactly how powerful they are. Many of the same tech leaders who sell these devices to billions of users take extraordinary precautions with their own technology, covering cameras and limiting the very tools they encourage everyone else to use. Because data is power. And the more data that flows through these systems, the more influence the companies behind them gain over the digital world we all live in. But the playing field doesn’t have to stay that way. On Thursday, privacy experts Glenn and Eric Meder are hosting a free Privacy Academy webinar explaining exactly how these systems work and what people can do about them. During the training, they walk through how modern operating systems collect and analyze your behavior, how AI tools can build detailed behavioral profiles, and why many of the privacy settings people rely on don’t actually stop data collection. More importantly, they explain a practical alternative. Instead of relying on software designed around data collection, they show how privacy-focused systems like Linux can give users far more control over their own computers. And they break it down step by step so everyday people—not just programmers or tech experts—can understand how to make the transition. Because once you understand how these systems work, protecting your privacy becomes far easier than most people think. The free webinar is happening Thursday, March 5 at 7 PM Central, and it’s open to anyone who wants to understand how Big Tech is gathering data—and how to stop it. 👉 Register here: You can’t control the direction the tech industry chooses to take. But you can control how much access those systems have to your life. We want to thank Privacy Academy for helping everyday people understand how the digital world really works and for being a proud sponsor of this program. If you’re interested in learning more, visit do your own research, and decide if the training is right for you. Because when it comes to privacy, the most important step is understanding the system you’re living inside.

There have been whispers of Bitcoin hodlers swapping BTC for Zcash 🤔🔏 Why? Because some Bitcoiners want to be able to transact with more privacy. BUT Bitcoin can still have NATIVE privacy and scale. Eli Ben-Sasson | Starknet.io explains how ZK-proofs and OP_CAT hold the key 🗝️👇 We caught up with the 'Godfather of ZK' on Cointelegraph's Chain Reaction show this week for a deep dive into the promise of zero-knowledge technology for Bitcoin and beyond. Ben-Sasson, who co-authored the ZeroCash protocol whitepaper and helped found Zcash 🛡️, said that Bitcoin can still have native privacy and infinite scalability if developers can agree to reinstate OP_CAT, a Satoshi-era OP_Code that Bitcoin's creator disabled in 2010. It turns out that Zcash's resurgence in 2025 could be the catalyst for Bitcoin's privacy push. "I hope that one consequence of this would be that the Bitcoin community becomes more open to things like OP_CAT and OP_STARK so that it can have post-quantum security, best privacy, best scale and programmability for this beautiful hard asset that is Bitcoin." Ben-Sasson said. "The technology is ready. All you need is a soft fork adding nine lines of code that Satoshi actually introduced. It's called OP_CAT. It's very, very easy. If there's a will, there's a way. In this case, it's a very simple way to give all of that goodness to Bitcoin itself." You can watch our full conversation with Ben-Sasson in the 🧵👀📺

Ep. 10 Free The Money | As Cash Disappears: Why Monero Succeeds Where Bitcoin Fails In this episode I’m joined by Douglas Tuman, founder of MoneroTopia and host of Monero Talk Live, to explore why Monero is not only the ultimate privacy coin, but a foundational tool for freedom in the digital age. Doug explains how Monero was built to fix Bitcoin’s core flaws. Bitcoin’s public ledger allows for the tracking of transactions and balances, while Monero encrypts the sender, receiver, and amount by default. Monero’s privacy makes Monero fully fungible, meaning every coin is identical, untraceable, and cannot be tainted or blacklisted, something Bitcoin can never achieve. Doug breaks down why Monero is more decentralized at the mining level, using ASIC-resistant proof-of-work that allows everyday CPUs to secure the network, preventing control by large industrial mining operations and state pressure unlike Bitcoin. This makes Monero harder to censor and more resilient long-term. This episode tackles the controversial topic head-on: Monero’s use on dark markets. Rather than being a weakness, it’s evidence that Monero is the most private and effective digital cash available, just as cash and encryption have always been neutral tools used by both good and bad actors. At a deeper level, this conversation is about freedom. Cash is being eliminated. Privacy is necessary to prevent governments from wielding excessive power over individuals. Ep. 22 | Free The Money | The Fight for Digital Integrity with Alexis Roussel In this episode, I sit down with privacy activist Alexis Roussel who is the co-founder and COO of Nym Technologies to explore one of the most important ideas of our time: the right to digital integrity. Alexis argues that in a world where our lives are increasingly online, personal data should not be treated as a commodity to be collected, bought, and sold—but as an extension of the individual. Drawing from his background in law, the United Nations, and digital rights advocacy, he explains why protecting human rights in the digital age requires a fundamental shift in how we think about data ownership and privacy. We dive into how governments around the world are tightening control over the internet, from shutdowns in Iran to deep packet inspection, black-box surveillance systems, and forced apps in Russia—and why even EU regulations like the General Data Protection Regulation may be “broken by design.” Alexis makes the case that once data is treated as something that can be collected it opens the door to exploitation. Instead, he’s actively working to enshrine digital integrity into law—pushing to amend the Swiss Constitution so that extracting or misusing personal data without consent is recognized as a violation of human rights. We also explore what comes next: the role of encryption, the dangers of metadata surveillance, and how technologies like Nym’s mixnet aim to make privacy the default. From mesh networks to censorship resistance, this conversation challenges the idea that surveillance equals safety and instead lays out a future where individuals retain control over their digital lives. 🎙️Decentralizing Digital Identity & Encrypted Messaging Ep. 107 with JeffG My guest today is Jeff G, privacy advocate and builder of censorship-resistant communication systems using Nostr and open cryptographic infrastructure. Jeff works on White Noise, a decentralized encrypted messaging project designed to remove single points of failure from private communication. We explore how the internet was built without native money and how that mistake created a surveillance economy where users became the product. We break down why “nothing to hide” is a psychological trap, how self-sovereign digital identity works through public-private key pairs, and why portable social graphs threaten centralized platform control. We also cover the global push for digital ID and CBDCs, the structural weakness of centralized messengers like Signal, and why real freedom now depends on rebuilding parallel, permissionless systems instead of trying to fix broken institutions. ► If you got value, please like, comment, share, follow and support my work.
