D'Angelo Russell says the Miami HEAT remind him of the Grit-and-Grind Memphis Grizzlies and Davion Mitchell is ready to take a huge step: “I think they're going to be that modern-day Memphis Grizzlies. When they had all those dudes in Memphis, you knew when you went there it was going to be a dogfight. I think you're going to see more of that with Miami. They're going to be able to score, but the way they're going to play—their style—is really going to beat you down, wear you out. Davion Mitchell... with the work he's putting in this summer, I think he's going to take a huge step under that organization.” (via The Backyard Podcast)

Mario Chalmers believes Davion Mitchell is a great BACKUP Point Guard 🤔 “I love Davion Mitchell. I think he’s a great PG. I think he’s a great backup PG. I haven’t really seen him be the playmaker that Miami has traditionally had as far as Carlos Arroyo being a playmaker, Tim Hardaway was a playmaker, I was a playmaker. I’m not saying he can’t do it but I haven’t seen it so far from him.” Davion has been putting a lot of work in this offseason, hoping for another leap next season. ( / Martel Llewellyn)

Brendan Tobin says Davion Mitchell will probably be traded if things aren’t going well next season: “Davion Mitchell has been busting his a** and really trying to prove himself…if they’re not good enough — he’s (Davion) unfortunately will be looked upon as the guy they have to upgrade because he’s not enough of a potent scorer…if he can show that he can be the next Jrue Holiday for this Miami Heat team…there’s a reason why he’s training like this is the biggest season of his life…for whatever reason if it doesn’t pan out by the trade deadline, will the Heat have a itchy finger to hit the button to change things up? Yea I kind of think that they will….” (via Brendan Tobin YT)

Davion Mitchell says Erik Spoelstra helped him with his confidence last season: “The beginning of last year I was going through a lot mentally…I didn’t feel like I was in the best shape…Spo understood that and he respected everything I do…mentally I was so messed up last year in the summer time that it was so hard to be myself…Spo still put me out there and made me grow as a player…he kind of me made me confident in a way — he just believed in me…this year is going to be completely different — obviously with the additions of Giannis and all the people that we added…” (via Deuce & Mo YT)

Davion Mitchell expanding his range and working on his off the dribble 3s. He’s also been getting his bounce up at the same time. Davion is ready to take that next level with Giannis on the team.

That gives me a lot of confidence in what he’s gonna be. The work gonna show.” — Theo pinson on Davion Mitchell 🔥 (Via To The Baha)

Norman Powell says Davion Mitchell is one of the hardest working teammates he’s EVER had: “I’ve been around some great players. Dame is a good one. Being around Davion, Davion genuinely loves basketball. Seeing how much he pours into the game every single day. Davion was the one person I seen that I say ‘ok, this guy works out like me.’ He’s committed to the grind.” Davion has been putting in so much work this offseason. Hopefully we see it pay off 🔥

Brandon Miller is T Mac's pick for the young player ready to take the next step and establish himself as a franchise guy this season. 🗣️ "I think B Miller can turn the corner. LaMelo is gone, right? Him having a bigger role this year, he should be a guy that averages 25-26 points, taking that next step. Depending on what I see from him this year is gonna determine, alright, he's gonna be the franchise. Because I think this year should be that year where we say, yeah, that's your franchise guy."

Tracy McGrady predicts Wembanyama will sweep the awards next season and lead the Spurs to a Championship: “So if I look at the NBA right now.. I would put my money on the San Antonio Spurs presently constructed. Because of the disappointment I think that happened to them this year, because of Wemby’s performance in the Finals, I’m sure he’s not happy with the way he played, so that’s going to motivate him in the offseason to even kick it up another notch. I’m sure he’s going to come back bigger and stronger. I’m sure he’s hearing where he needs to operate for him to be the most effective for his team. So all this stuff is coming into play to build this creative player that’s going to come back stronger. He’s going to win Defensive Player of the Year. He’s gonna win MVP. He’s gonna win the in-season Tournament MVP. He’s going to sweep. So for me, I think because he’s going to be motivated and they had a big let down and disappointment this year, I’m going San Antonio Spurs to be right back in that position and to win a championship." #GoSpursGo #PorVida

Kenny Beecham on Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Miami Heat: “Giannis plays for the Heat and he’s wearing number 7 — I think it’s going to take me months to get used to the number 7 on Giannis. But he plays for the Heat now, that’s probably going to take me months to get used to…there’s aspirations for him to be a contender again and he’s in a way better position in Miami than he was in Milwaukee that’s for damn sure. It is about keeping my boy healthy in that postseason…that’s really what it’s all about.” (via Kenny For Real YT)

Asked Jaylen Brown about how he’s mentored Jordan Walsh this season: “I definitely took a step forward in my leadership to start this season, because I knew that with a lot of guys gone, we're going to need some guys on this team to take steps forward. I know Jordan had the potential, so I really communicated with him and spoke life into him so he could be ready for this opportunity. And he has been.” “I think he's had a great year this season, what I've imagined. I think he's still continuing to get better. He's got to continue to have the right mindset and the right approach and that faith that everything will work itself out.”
