Wednesday, March 4, 2026, 6:55 AM: A series of strong to moderate wind events. The first wind event will impact not just Northern California but also Central and Southern California in the next 72 hours. Let me explain. The initial wind event will affect Northern California as a surface cold front crashes through, with north winds gusts reaching 45 to 60 mph. This particular wind event will impact the Napa, Santa Rosa, and San Francisco regions from Wednesday noon through about 1 PM Thursday, when the cold front moves down into Bakersfield, kicking up dust and debris and potentially causing issues on the 5 Freeway and 99. This will likely have impacts later tonight through Thursday. Meanwhile, in Southern California, northwest wind gusts are projected to reach 40 to 55 mph, possibly causing trees to fall and powerlines to collapse early Thursday morning and continuing through Thursday night. This will also affect Long Beach, California, which is quite unusual for these events. A secondary low-pressure axis will take shape, arriving on Saturday at 4AM to Sunday at 12PM positioning itself near Yuma, Arizona. This atmospheric setup with allow asurface high over Santa Cruz, California of a 1025 millibar high will create ideal conditions for a strong and potentially strong Santa Ana wind event for Southern California particularly the corridor from Santa Clarita to Camarillo around 55 to 65 mph, creating potential for destructive power lines to come down. Unfortunately, this very strong wind will cause mountain waves in the San Fernando Valley and Malibu region. The good news is that we will not see significant fire activity due to the recent tremendous rainfall we experienced in mid February 2026 and in December 2025. However, Saturday 2AM - 9AM there is concern that we could see even isolated stronger winds in Altadena and Pasadena that could exceed 65 MPH gusts. I am closely monitoring the situation, as this very windy period will also affect Las Vegas and parts of Arizona with gusts of 45MPH - 65 MPH. If you are traveling in those areas, please be aware of blowing dust and debris on highways. #CAwx

#HudsonValley: flooding, wind damage likely tonight, may cause school delays/closings on Wednesday 😵‍💫 Before the rain, 1-3 inches of wet snow in Sullivan and western Ulster County between noon - 4:00 pm may cause early dismissals or lead to the cancellation of after-school activities. Elsewhere across the mid-Hudson Valley, any wet snow that falls this afternoon is unlikely to stick to paved surfaces. After 4:00 pm, the main precipitation type will be rain, and it’s expected to become heavy in the evening. The forecast for Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning is a tumultuous one: - Periods of heavy rain and maybe even a thunderstorm between 6:00 pm - 3:00 am, with rainfall amounts ranging from 2-4 inches (a month’s worth or more) - Rapid snow melt, especially when the temperature reaches the low-to-mid 50s after midnight - Strong-to-damaging wind gusts of 40-60 mph between 6:00 pm - 3:00 am Possible impacts include: - Ponding of water and flooding on streets, particularly in urban and low-lying areas - Flooding of rivers, creeks, and streams, some of which may rise out of their banks - Scattered-to-widespread power outages and downed tree branches; the combination of sodden grounds and strong winds may cause some trees to topple If you live in a flood prone location, expect flooding tonight — take extra steps to protect your property. Some school delays and/or closings will likely occur on Wednesday because of this storm, although it isn’t possible to pinpoint exactly which towns will experience the worst impacts. The December 18th storm is comparable to this storm, although the flooding and wind damage chance looks higher this time around. Although the worst of the weather will be over by daybreak Wednesday, strong wind gusts of 30-40 mph are expected on Wednesday afternoon, affecting cleanup efforts. Another significant rain and wind storm is likely on Friday night.

POV: The kiss that broke the internet, recreated with AI on the tip of Tokyo Tower. A viral cinematic moment, reimagined with seamless camera movement, perfect character consistency, and a breathtaking skyline that never leaves the frame. Every shot stays locked to the very top of Tokyo Tower for a romance that feels straight out of a blockbuster. Made with GPT Image 2 and Seedance on Pollo AI for the Peak Moment Challenge. Prompt: PART 1 • 0:00–0:15 — THE REVEAL & THE KISS (9:16) 0:00–0:03 — Arrival Continuous crane arc already in motion around the couple on the tip of Tokyo Tower's antenna mast. Only one Tokyo Tower visible. Wind moves Jessy's hair and trench dress. He wears the yellow kawaii mascot helmet. Jessy: "You're seriously wearing that up here?" Man: "Only for you." 0:03–0:06 — Reveal Camera continues the same arc. He removes the helmet, revealing tousled brown hair and blue eyes. 0:06–0:09 — Pull Continuous crane widens. He pulls Jessy close by the waist, she grabs his jacket collar. The Polloai flag becomes visible above. 0:09–0:12 — Kiss Camera keeps pulling back with a subtle Dutch roll. They kiss on the tip of Tokyo Tower as the grade transitions from hazy news footage to warm cinematic. 0:12–0:15 — Sway Wide shot. They slowly turn while kissing. Tokyo Tower and the Polloai flag remain clearly visible. PART 2 • 0:15–0:25 — THE SPIN & THE VIEW (9:16) Continuity: First frame must exactly match the last frame of Part 1. 0:15–0:18 — Spin Continue the identical crane arc and orbit. He spins Jessy once on the tower tip. Dress, jewelry and blue-streaked hair flow naturally. Jessy: "Don't drop me from up here!" 0:18–0:21 — Second Kiss Orbit tightens into a close two-shot. They share another soft kiss, foreheads touching between kisses. 0:21–0:23 — View Camera cranes upward and pulls back. They face the glowing Tokyo skyline together with the Polloai flag above. 0:23–0:25 — Hold Slow push-in. They remain embracing on the tip of Tokyo Tower until fade to black. 🚨 Urgent Appeal for Gaza’s Children 🚨 In Gaza, winter is not felt — it attacks. It tears through fragile tents. It floods the ground beneath sleeping families. It turns every night into a battle against cold, wind, and rain. For families living in tents, winter offers no shelter. Only exposed fabric. Only freezing air. Only fear. ❄️ This week — for the first time in our humanitarian project — we are distributing plastic tarps to families in Gaza. Heavy-duty plastic sheets designed to shield tents from rain, block the wind, and protect children from nights that show no mercy. Tent by tent. Family by family. Because survival here depends on inches of protection. Thanks to three voices who refused to look away: ✨ William Menaker (Will 🦥 Menaker) 🔥 Felix (GoliathFan1952) 🤍 Eyup Lovely (Eyup Lovely) Because of you, plastic tarps will cover torn tents — turning exposure into shelter, and fear into fragile safety. For a child in Gaza, a plastic tarp is not material aid. It is a wall against the storm. It stops rain from soaking small bodies. It blocks the wind from shaking fragile tents. It creates a barrier between life and loss. 🌧️ Winter storms here are unforgiving. Water floods the ground. Wind collapses weak shelters. Children sleep shivering, clutching nothing but hope. When homes are gone, a tarp becomes a roof. A shield. A chance to survive the night. 🌟 To those who stood with us: Your voices became protection. You didn’t just donate — you helped hold tents together in the storm 🤍 Because of you, children will sleep drier. Because of you, families will face the night with less fear. Because of you, dignity survives — sheet by sheet, tent by tent. 🚨 We urgently need your support. Even a small donation helps us cover another tent this week. 👉 Donate now. Don’t delay protection. Don’t leave a family exposed to the storm. Together, we shield families. Together, we protect children. Together, we stand between the cold and life 💙🌱

Illegal Levels Of Whale-Killing Pile-Driving Noise By Wind Industry Documented New documentary, "Thrown To The Wind, Part 2," provides more hard evidence that the wind industry is harming whales The wind industry is not killing endangered whales off the East Coast, say government agencies and the news media. But it is. Before 2016, when the wind industry’s increased boat traffic, sonar mapping, and construction began, eight humpback whales were found dead per year between Virginia and Maine. Since 2016, an average of 25 humpbacks were found dead annually. And last year, there were a record 83 whales found dead. And yet the Associated Press insisted last month that “there’s no evidence that limited wind farm construction on the Atlantic Coast has directly resulted in any whale deaths.” [Emphasis added.] That’s true. But there’s also no evidence that smoking directly causes cancer. Nor is there evidence that more carbon dioxide directly warms the planet. AP is playing the exact same, deliberately misleading, game that it accuses the tobacco and fossil fuels industries of playing. This is disturbing because the US government and media are blaming the spike in whale deaths on climate change, which is far less direct than the wind industry’s huge increase in boat traffic in previously untrafficked sea lanes, its high-decibel sonar, and its high-decibel pile driving. Last year, the most thorough investigation to date of whale deaths found a strong correlation with wind industry activity. Lisa Linowes of Save the Right Whales Coalition did the study. Linowes tracked whale deaths within the same timeframe and location as offshore wind sonar surveys. “As the amount of offshore wind activity increased within an area,” she notes, “so did whale deaths.” In last year’s “Thrown To The Wind” documentary, Rand documented illegally high levels of whale-harming sonar noise by the wind industry. And now, in a sequel, “Thrown To the Wind, Part 2,” filmmaker Jonah Markowitz documents Rand measuring illegal levels of noise from pile-driving by the wind industry off of Martha’s Vineyard. The boat crew can hear the noise through the air. “That’s loud to hear from here,” says one of the men. “And I got my ear muffs on and everything.” It’s so loud that Rand has to adjust his equipment. “I am overloading,” he says. “I need to change my gain.” Says one sailor, “Sounds like a noise from a horror movie.” “Sounds like thunder coming in,” says another. “It's insane.” The sound is equivalent to the blast from a 155-millimeter Howitzer. The environmental groups and Democratic governors championing the illegal pile-driving off the East Coast are the same groups that fought oil drilling there just a few years ago, claiming it would be too noisy. It is illegal to harm or kill endangered species. The North Atlantic right whale is critically endangered, with fewer than 400 individuals in the species left. The push by the US government, the wind industry, and the news media to build industrial wind projects proven to kill whales is the biggest environmental scandal in the world. A handful of honest conservationists are fighting billions in wind industry/taxpayer money. That money has financially corrupted the politicians, the regulatory agencies, and the news media through political donations and advertisements. The money has even corrupted the people who do the autopsies of the whales. We won a big victory last year, in helping to halt a wind project off the coast of New Jersey. Unfortunately, the US government and wind industry are moving forward with plans to build wind projects along the rest of the East Coast. If they go forward, they will make the North Atlantic right whale extinct.

The 149 Cardinals present in Rome held their fourth General Congregation on Friday morning in the Vatican’s New Synod Hall. Matteo Bruni, the Director of the Holy See Press Office, told journalists that the Congregation began with a moment of prayer at 9:10 AM and lasted until 12:20 PM. There were 33 interventions from the Cardinals on the Church and the world. At the end of the meeting, the Master of Papal Liturgical Celebrations, Archbishop Diego Ravelli, addressed the Cardinals to explain the funeral rite for Pope Francis, noting that it will be the funeral of a shepherd, not of a sovereign. Archbishop Ravelli added that the late Pope’s body will not be exposed on a catafalque, or raised platform. At the funeral Mass on Saturday at 10:00 AM, visiting dignitaries will be arranged according to protocol. The Presidents of Argentina (the Pope’s homeland) and then of Italy, followed by members of royal households and the other presidents in French alphabetical order. Mr. Bruni explained that the procession with the vehicle carrying the Pope’s body to St. Mary Major will leave from the Perugino Door to the Vatican and that it will not pass through St. Peter’s Square. The procession toward St. Mary Major will take about half an hour, he said, adding that the Pope’s coffin will be visible. Mr. Bruni said the interment at the late Pope’s tomb in St. Mary Major will be a private act. On Sunday afternoon, the Cardinals will go to the Marian Basilica at around 4:00 p.m, where they will pass through the Holy Door, visit Pope Francis’s tomb, and then gather in the Pauline Chapel where the icon of Maria Salus Populi Romani is housed. They will then pray Vespers together. In conclusion, Mr. Bruni said that around 150,000 people have paid their respects to the late Pope in St. Peter’s Basilica, as of noon on Friday.

Yorkshire, starting on Friday 11 July, a temporary use ban (TUB), which is a restriction on the use of hosepipes, will come into effect. This will help our region’s reservoir levels recover and protect Yorkshire's water resources throughout the summer months, following one of the driest springs on record and the region being in drought. We've tried everything possible to avoid these restrictions, and despite our customers' help to save water where they can and our efforts to manage water resources, including adding an extra 100 people to our leakage team and upgrading our infrastructure to reduce leaks and bursts, the dry weather and warmer-than-usual temperatures have increased demand. We have supplied an additional 4.3 billion litres of water between April and June compared to a typical year - that's enough to supply Leeds for five weeks. This has left our reservoirs more depleted than expected and lower than average for this time of year. As a result, we’re kindly asking everyone to please put their hosepipes away for a bit. We understand you may have some questions about the restrictions. You can find detailed FAQs, including activities covered by the hosepipe restrictions and who would be exempt from it, on our website at or watch the video below to see how this might affect you. The restrictions will be in place until the region has seen significant rainfall to bring reservoirs and groundwater stocks back to where they need to be. This may last into the winter months, but rest assured, we will lift it as soon as we are able to. We’re really grateful to everyone who has been saving water where they can this year, and we kindly ask that you please continue to do so to help ensure there’s enough water for everyone in Yorkshire this summer and beyond. Thank you for your understanding. 💙

🚨 URGENT: For the First Time, a Large-Scale Tent Installation and Distribution in Gaza — Families Are Dying from Exposure 🚨 👉 In Gaza, losing shelter is no longer just suffering. Losing shelter has become a death sentence. As winter intensifies and displacement continues, thousands of families are living in the open. No walls. No roof. No door to protect them from wind, rain, and deadly cold. 🌧️ At night, bodies collapse from the cold. Children cry until their voices fade. Parents stay awake until morning, counting breaths… afraid their children may not wake up again. 💔 People are not only dying from bombardment. Not only from hunger. They are dying because they sleep without a tent. In the camps, families face: ⛺ Open ground with no shelter 🧒 Children shaking from cold and fear 👵 Elderly people unable to withstand the harsh cold 🌬️ Wind and rain cutting straight into their bodies Some families dig into the ground to hide. Others wrap their children in plastic bags. Many go to sleep knowing the night itself may kill them. 🚨 For the first time, Mohammed’s Team is carrying out a large-scale emergency tent installation and distribution. This is not symbolic. This is not temporary aid. It is a life-saving humanitarian intervention. We are installing tents for: • Families with no shelter at all • Children and infants • Displaced women • Elderly people • Families most exposed to cold and wind One tent means: 🏠 A roof that blocks rain 🔥 Relative warmth that prevents freezing 🌙 A child surviving the night 🫂 Restored human dignity 🫶 This unprecedented campaign is possible thanks to people who refused to look away from suffering: 🔥 William Menaker (Will 🦥 Menaker) 🔥 Felix (GoliathFan1952) 🔥 Eyup Lovely (Eyup Lovely) Their support was not words. It was tents erected and lives protected. But the painful truth is: the need is far greater than what we can currently provide. 🚨 This is a race against time. The night does not wait. Winter shows no mercy. And without a tent… survival is not guaranteed. 👉 Donate now Your donation today: • Installs a tent for a family with no shelter • Protects children from deadly cold • Prevents avoidable deaths • Restores a measure of humanity Together, we can stop deaths in the open.
