In MMA, flashy/high-risk openings get worshipped when they land (Masvidal's knee, Werdum's superman punch, etc.). If Conor's kick had connected and ended the fight, everyone would've called it genius. The outrage is mostly because it missed and things went wrong. That said, the "but Conor was coming off a snapped leg + years of rust/drugs/alcohol" counter is also fair. Context matters.
