Daniel Negreanu is wrong about this

Ok, you got me to bite and I’ll take a nibble pal: I say in the video you shared, “I was wrong, maybe it’s 10 guys who put up $12 million” Then you say that I said that everyone is in for $12 million and no one is making money. You shared a clip of me NOT saying what you said I said! Bro 😂 What I wrote in my post and said here, does not match what are saying I said. Video and text both confirm. Of course high roller pros make money, but collectively it’s less than it may appear. For every guy who won $5 million on a year there is a group of pros who lost. Really good pros too. You would be in that group no? I’m not slamming, you are a great player that deserves a lot of credit for the hard work you put in and your recent results, but how about the few years before that? Before that success, how deep was the makeup? You aren’t alone. I know other great top players who have been in $5-10 million in makeup, the swings are crazy. At no point did I suggest everyone is in for $12 million and at no point did I say top pros aren’t making money. Find me any clip or text where I said either of those things. I’m happy to discuss any claims I actually made, but you are the one not telling the truth about what I said.

Never been anywhere near $5m makeup and never had a friend over $10m buyins. I’ve had losing years but sure as shit never lost anything near $5m in a year

Do you acknowledge that it is you misrepresenting my words on both accounts? 1. I didn’t say everyone is in for $12 million 2. I didn’t say none of the regs are making money Kind of important to establish that IMO.

In the clip you say the 10 highest volume players pay $12m in buyins so when you see them cash for $11m on hendon mob they actually lost a million. All of that is false

Again: 1. Did I say everyone is in for $12 million? 2. Did I say none of the high stakes regs are making money? Both things you claimed I said that I didn’t say. I can acknowledge that my guesstimate was probably wrong, I am not sure how many actually played the full $12 million schedule in a given year. The point of my post was to pull the curtain back, when people see a guy cash for $4 million in a year and think that he must have won big, that that’s not always the case. Would bet a large sum of money that independent arbitrators would rule in my favor that you 100% misrepresented/lied about what I said. I may be wrong on the figures, but I wasn’t lying. You blatantly twisted what I said and lied, claiming I said something you know I never said. Let’s hug it out and be done with it, deal?

Sure man. You shape the opinion of anything poker related for hundreds of thousands of poker fans. What you said here on your podcast has shaped the opinion of me and my peers as losers, whether that is exactly what you said or not

So, I take it you aren’t going to acknowledge that you lied about what I said then yeah? Disappointing, but ok. As for the shaping, you are entitled to your opinion but I disagree. I essentially shared the fact that what many perceive to be the yearly earnings of high stakes tourney pros aren’t nearly what they think they are. And that isn’t an opinion.

Sure thing man I’m just a big lier. Me and the other 9 regs that are in for $12m a year losing money. I’ve cashed for $12m this year I better hurry up and go to work so I can escape with a profit

Seth, you probably didn’t realize this, but Daniel is from Canada and they use a different currency that we do here. So I’m guessing he’s talking about Canadian dollars.

Seth is one of the hardest working pros out there, on his game, physical wellbeing & mindset. We talked about this in The Interview this year. I love that Seth is stepping out front and sharing inside the mind of high stakes pros.

Thanks Craig. That’s the main reason I started posting things. It has always bummed me out to see the general poker community’s opinions about us shaped by people who don’t know much about it

@CraigTapscott We all know the real money is in the GG contracts

@CraigTapscott Meh, there is certainly good money in that but most great tourney players are still making more than they could with sponsorships

the gist of Daniel’s statement is a complete reframing of the high roller scene as a farce the “all high roller pros” vs “top 10” debate is a clerical discrepancy, not a contextual alteration the point he makes/implies and is propagated still stands: “that the high roller scene is BS”. I’ve heard this a lot but I’ve never seen any factual evidence to support it

Great summary of my point and reason for posting in the first place

I agree with @RealKidPoker amd believe his point is just because you see a poker players Hendon mob and it shows 11 million it doesn't necessarily mean that poker is a winning poker player. Maybe at one point and time but if they continue to play 250k & 100k buyins can end up br

Agree with Negz. These poker players have insane winnings reported but what were their losses? Most of them are actually losers in the long run. You know who wins though? People like negreanu who have free tourney buy ins and sponsership money…

How many pros can stop playing and live a comfortable life from their winnings? The illusion sold for years, since the airing of high stakes poker - tons of millionaires from poker. The reality, only from playing the game (set aside ambassadorship, etc...), a handful.

Dnegs has become insufferable. Now his replies sound more like something a politician would say than a poker player/ambassador.

Ah yes, the classic bash DNegs clickbait. Solver approved way of getting followers.

Negreanu went from one of biggest name in poker to biggest retard in poker pretty quickly last couple of years

All I know is that you need to understand that everything you do at the poker table conveys information. You don’t want to be all loosey goosey, eating a sandwich, on your phone. Ooo, baby I love it! There are three basic characteristics that make an elite poker player. One is just the raw skill, the other is the fundamental understanding of the mathematical side. The third part is what I call discipline. In this master speech I’m going to share things that I’ve never actually shared before. For example I might look at a guy and say, “you have king nine...hahaha”. Well, that’s not magic, it’s based on a combination of things and I’m gonna teach you how to do that. And also, higher rake is better!

Danny knows he couldn’t win in these games, so he spits garbage on this issue and others. Much respect to you and the other high rolling community

That’s so true. When you have big influential players saying that pros don’t make a living people believe them. That makes people think that it’s fake. That pros are out there showing all the good yet not the reality of the losing. When I was living in Las Vegas I had a lot of friends who had that winning edge. But this makes people believe no one has that. Then they start to think that all poker players are just gambling addicts, and then no one has any skill. So many of my friends and colleagues put in so much time studying and working hard to have that edge. Sure, we may have been mostly cash players and not dipping into the high roller tournaments but we still worked hard to have that edge. To say the pros are just losing throws all the hard work out the door. It’s not good for poker.

He’s not a good person. Full stop

Jesus boyz really? Why does everything have to be ao literal with u poker guyz. U sit on your ass and play a game for a living and are one percenters--Should be happier and more laid back

Can we play a golf match? I need a bankroll 😔

Na most are broke

I’m thinking 2°. It also comes down to the number of Bay and the amount of those buys. But yes, those numbers do seem high.

People hate on the lack of transparency. Brynn Kennedy isn’t up $18mm after a huge score. Buyins exist as you admit. I know multiple 7 seven winners who were still flat broke after the win, and stakes were paid

Seth if you are trying to sound like an absolute soy boy loser here you've nailed it! Embarrassing stuff

Seth = actual blue collar ish poker pro who doesn’t have to go around telling everyone how great he is. Daniel = fake alpha with Botox and hair plugs that has to be the center of attention ALWAYS

It’s fucking degenerate gambling 🎰.

He’s also wrong about plucking his pubic hair and stitching & plugging it into hIs face and head .. 🧚 🧚🏻♀️ 🧚🏻♀️

What tournament are you playing in that’s 3%?

@RealKidPoker would you like to take this back or Do you stand on what you said ?

Sure man , let’s take what Dnegs said and regurgitate it to imply he meant something else. The Essence of what he’s saying is the point, not the exact details of monetary values used.

Like the counterpoint, because Daniels point is often very valid like you stated..

Perfectly professional response to @RealKidPoker simultaneously proving his take as wrong without rubbing his nose in it. Daniel has no choice but to concede here.

That's literally not at all what Daniel claimed in the video. Do.. do you understand English at all?

Seth just trying to inflate his little ego. Dude will be dead broke within 5 years. 100%

You're more wrong than Daniel

Well said. Love the way you made your point while maintaining respect to Daniel, always. Really enjoy what you’ve been doing on SM lately

He said 10 guys, but at least you got clicks and an advertisement…

Stop interrupting the tax fraud lol
