Darrell Waltrip honored Tim Flock throughout the weekend at Darlington Raceway in 1998. He used Flock's No. 300 on his car for practice and qualifying, before utilizing his own No. 17 for the race. Flock passed away nine days later.

Flock being used against a citizen in retaliation for exercising his first amendment right ----- Jones was in a private parking lot across the street from a police officer he was recording on his phone. The officer saw him recording and came over and harassed him, pulled him out of his car and arrested him. Jones later filed a complaint and ultimately found that because of his complaint the police department proceeded to search for his location over 100 times on the Flock system. full video:

In the past few weeks, it’s been hard to scroll X for even five minutes without running into some anti-Flock screed, or some news about Flock's automated license-plate reading cameras (ALPRs) being destroyed by angry citizens. And I can recall few instances of a private company raising so many passions. It’s no surprise that the radical left wants Flock obliterated. If Antifa and Black Lives Matter types are unable to defund the police, the next best thing would be to strip the police of their tools. But many forces on the right want Flock cameras gone as well. Senator Josh Hawley of Missouri has launched an investigation into Flock’s practices. Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida has decided to take down the Flock cameras owned by the state government. The strongest research saying Flock SOLVES crime is a white paper, written by Flock, using Flock's own data. In their own paper, Flock admits the core question, whether these crimes 'otherwise would have remained unsolved in the first place’... was never tested. And that question, in their own words, is 'unlikely to be solved at scale via quantitative analysis.' The strongest independent evidence for ALPR technology closing cases is a 2019 study, of a different company's cameras, which found clearance gains for auto theft and robbery that WERE NOT statistically significant once researchers controlled for other factors. Flock simply stood in front of a falling curve it didn't cause and called it proof” The data being referenced is from Council on Criminal Justice and it shows crime days through 2025 - Nationwide crime days showed a 36% decline since 2021 - Houston Texas which is heavily saturated with flock only saw a 36% reduction in crime during this same time period Meaning the crime rate fell at the same rate whether there were flock cameras or not Keep in mind there are 3,800 flock cameras in the Houston area so you would logically expect the decline in crime to be much greater, but homicides only fell at the national average
