If I were to change it, keep the first ”no” but remove the second one. The second one fells out of character for him, even when turning good. My pitch would appeal both fans of the original cut and special edition.

Did the movie get changed yet again? In the version I have on DVD he doesn't say no. It honestly takes away from the scene quite a bit imo
