He chose to honor a freshman running back, buried on the depth chart, who lost his mom earlier this year to cancer. He made sure to get Soren Rief two carries at the end of the game to honor her. “Being a member of a team is about supporting the hell out of each other and giving each other special moments in your lives, and you guys did that tonight.”

UNC head coach Jenny Levy wants more transparency regarding two overturned UNC goals — one that would have put it up 10-7, and the other which would have tied the game at 12-12. “I’m not looking at the review and I haven’t looked at the film, but it seems to me that we have a lot of work to do with our game. It’s unfortunate. They didn’t give us an explanation on what it was. We clearly saw on our iPads what it was, so probably disagreed with that. I thought that those were momentum-changing decisions and I thought that our team had to battle through that, and we didn’t do as well as we could.”

In the latest case, a female player reportedly received a 10-match ban for shouting ‘go on big man’ at the male footballer Blair Hamilton. Hamilton is the 6-foot tall male who has played on the England women’s university team, Hastings United, and Saltdean Women, and was also picked as substitute goalie for Sutton United Women’s team by their male manager Lucy Clark. This third case of the FA punishing a female player for stating the truth has emerged in an interview with Hamilton on the 'Football versus Homophobia' podcast, which was broadcast in March 2024. Hamilton describes a ‘red mist’ descending when he was called a man, which led to him making a formal complaint to the FA. The FA duly obliged by hauling the unknown female player through its disciplinary process and banning her from her sport, says Hamilton. This is the same punishment meted out to former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez for biting an opponent in 2013. The latest case of female players being punished for stating the obvious follows the cases of two teenage girls, who were brought before the FA’s National Serious Case Panels and handed out match bans for saying what they were seeing – men on the pitch. Despite FA charges, outcomes, and fines being published on a monthly basis, these cases don’t appear on the FA website. Why is that? How many other players, fans or clubs have been sanctioned for calling out men playing in the women’s game? What is being hidden from us? The FA is discriminating against women and girls by allowing males into the female game. Then further discriminating by handing out excessive punishments when this unfairness (and the truth) is called out. It's a means to silence women and prohibit any further challenge. We call on the FA and Lisa Nandy MP, the Secretary of State for Sport to make football fair for females. No males in the female game.

What’s more: FCPS allegedly shut down the South County football program and let go ALL of the coaches until a new coach is named and removed access to coach access to Hudl, a video platform, hurting students who are being recruited by colleges. In June 2024, I began reporting a local high school story for the Fairfax County Times Pearl Project with sports reporter G, and it became Virginia’s biggest youth sports scandal: controversial recruiting practices at Hayfield Secondary School in Fairfax County Virginia that led to a wider community reckoning on the issue of integrity in sports and calls for the resignation of fcpssupt Michelle Reid for her mishandling of the case. Today, at South County High School in Lorton, Va., about 300 football players, athletes and students streamed out of Door No. 1 at 2 PM to march on Laurel Crest Drive, shouting, “Reinstate Coach P.” Last year, Pannoni and other coaches raised red flags about alleged recruitment problems at Hayfield, and the school district official told coach Pannoni on Friday that he had lost his job. Parents and coaches say they are hearing that Reid is allegedly planning to retaliate against all the coaches for embarrassing her. FCPS denies the charge. FCPS sent a media relations officer to follow the march. He sat in the back of an FCPS security cruiser. FCPS Superintendent Reid investigated Pannoni for an audio tape with parents, indelicately describing the Hayfield recruiting as akin to “grooming.” We have learned that the principal had allegedly told Pannoni that students didn’t feel “safe”around the coach. The students I interviewed reveal a different story: speaking about Pannoni’s positive impact on their lives. “We love Coach Pannoni,” said many a student. This story speaks to wider issues about transparency, accountability, and integrity in both governance and school districts. Today, high school students spoke out when the issue touched their lives very personally, speaking up with clarity for a coach they respect. Here's the entire translated speech. It's worth the read and also a good primer for those unfamiliar with the problems/corruption of the KFA: "To the people of Korea, football fans, and my fellow lawmakers, I can barely contain my anger. What we are feeling today goes far beyond disappointment—it is devastation. The catastrophic collapse of Korean football at this World Cup was not an accident. It was a tragedy that many saw coming. First and foremost, I want to express my deepest respect and gratitude to our national team players, who gave everything they had on the field. We will never forget your sacrifice, your effort, and your commitment to representing our nation. However, Head Coach Hong Myung-bo, who failed to deliver, and the Korea Football Association, which protected him as a shield to preserve its own power, must now face judgment without excuses. In September 2024, I warned that the appointment of Hong Myung-bo was the product of backroom deals and organized collusion. Yet the Korea Football Association ignored those warnings. It refused to cooperate fully with parliamentary investigations, withheld documents, and misled both the National Assembly and the Korean people. When football fans demanded answers, Chairman Chung Mong-gyu and the entrenched leadership of the KFA responded not with accountability, but with arrogance. They shut out the voices of the people and acted as though they were beyond criticism. Two years ago, they attempted to cover up the crisis by sacrificing a few individuals while leaving the system itself untouched. That arrogance allowed a broken structure to remain in place, and today we have witnessed the inevitable result: Korean football has become the subject of ridicule on the world stage. But let me be clear. This is not a problem that can simply be solved by the resignations of Chairman Chung Mong-gyu and Coach Hong Myung-bo alone. As Park Ji-sung and commentator Park Moon-sung have both lamented, as long as an entrenched cartel that values power over competence continues to dominate Korean football, there is no future for the sport—not even one percent. Let me repeat that. This crisis cannot be resolved through symbolic resignations. The Korea Sports Council must also accept responsibility. No one should be allowed to use the resignation of a chairman or head coach as an excuse to avoid uncovering the full truth or escaping accountability. Even if it means enduring a difficult period while preparing for next year's Asian Cup, the only path forward is the complete dismantling of the Korea Football Association's current structure and rebuilding it from the ground up. Therefore, I strongly call for the following. First, everyone under Chairman Chung Mong-gyu's leadership must immediately resign and accept full responsibility for both this disaster and the subsequent cover-up. Second, everyone involved in Hong Myung-bo's appointment must fully disclose the truth about the backroom negotiations, illegal practices, and unfair procedures that surrounded the hiring process, and cooperate without exception in a thorough and impartial investigation. Third, I call on the government and the Korea Sports Council to immediately launch a comprehensive special audit of the Korea Football Association. Everyone connected to this entrenched system of privilege and favoritism must be held fully accountable under both the law and administrative regulations. Disasters are not repeated by chance. They are repeated when corrupt systems are allowed to remain untouched. We must take Korean football back from the hands of corrupt institutions and return it to where it belongs—with the Korean people. I, too, will not back down. I will continue to fight for a full investigation without sacred cows and for genuine reform. Finally, together with the Sports Corruption Reporting Center, I will establish a dedicated Korea Football Association Corruption Reporting Center to receive reports of misconduct related to the KFA. To root out opaque administration and corruption, and to rebuild Korean football on a foundation of transparency and integrity, I ask for the courage of the Korean people and football fans to come forward with information. It refused to cooperate fully with parliamentary investigations, withheld documents, and misled both the National Assembly and the Korean people. When football fans demanded answers, Chairman Chung Mong-gyu and the entrenched leadership of the KFA responded not with accountability, but with arrogance. They shut out the voices of the people and acted as though they were beyond criticism. Two years ago, they attempted to cover up the crisis by sacrificing a few individuals while leaving the system itself untouched. That arrogance allowed a broken structure to remain in place, and today we have witnessed the inevitable result: Korean football has become the subject of ridicule on the world stage. But let me be clear. This is not a problem that can simply be solved by the resignations of Chairman Chung Mong-gyu and Coach Hong Myung-bo alone. As Park Ji-sung and commentator Park Moon-sung have both lamented, as long as an entrenched cartel that values power over competence continues to dominate Korean football, there is no future for the sport—not even one percent. Let me repeat that. This crisis cannot be resolved through symbolic resignations. The Korea Sports Council must also accept responsibility. No one should be allowed to use the resignation of a chairman or head coach as an excuse to avoid uncovering the full truth or escaping accountability. Even if it means enduring a difficult period while preparing for next year's Asian Cup, the only path forward is the complete dismantling of the Korea Football Association's current structure and rebuilding it from the ground up. Therefore, I strongly call for the following. First, everyone under Chairman Chung Mong-gyu's leadership must immediately resign and accept full responsibility for both this disaster and the subsequent cover-up. Second, everyone involved in Hong Myung-bo's appointment must fully disclose the truth about the backroom negotiations, illegal practices, and unfair procedures that surrounded the hiring process, and cooperate without exception in a thorough and impartial investigation. Third, I call on the government and the Korea Sports Council to immediately launch a comprehensive special audit of the Korea Football Association. Everyone connected to this entrenched system of privilege and favoritism must be held fully accountable under both the law and administrative regulations. Disasters are not repeated by chance. They are repeated when corrupt systems are allowed to remain untouched. We must take Korean football back from the hands of corrupt institutions and return it to where it belongs—with the Korean people. I, too, will not back down. I will continue to fight for a full investigation without sacred cows and for genuine reform. Finally, together with the Sports Corruption Reporting Center, I will establish a dedicated Korea Football Association Corruption Reporting Center to receive reports of misconduct related to the KFA. This data leak was not a hack by any means; the selfie ID feature and driver's license images used to register users were stored unencrypted on the app's servers for anyone on the internet to see. Furthermore, the location data was not scrubbed from the images, so the exact GPS coordinate of each user was also leaked, with tens of thousands of users' private location data being leaked online. -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: This app gained infamy as it's entire purpose is to serve as a "Yelp" for women to rate men, and to allow women to secretly share personal information regarding prospective dates, all without men being allowed to either face their accusers or even know that they are being gossiped about (thus the name of the app being a slang term that serves as a synonym for "gossip"). Most importantly, the app uses facial recognition to prevent biological males from obtaining an account. Beyond the unfortunate origins of the app and the equally unfortunate data leak, examination of the data that was leaked is likely to cause exceptionally grave risks to national security. The "gossipy" nature of this story doesn't matter, a bunch of unflattering selfies doesn't matter either; what does matter is that this may have inadvertently revealed significant national security concerns. For instance, preliminary analysis of the datasets indicates that many users of the Tea app downloaded the app, took a selfie, and registered for an account while at work. In some cases, at government facilities or on military bases...such as the rather unfortunate individual who decided it was a good idea to register for this app while stationed at Marine Corps Base Quantico. Or the person who felt that they needed to use this app while on a gunnery range at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds. So far, other interesting sites located via personnel taking a selfie to register for this app at work include the following locations: - An ammunition storage bunker at Naval Weapons Station Earle in New Jersey. - The legislative offices at the Connecticut State Capitol building. - One of the headquarters buildings at Minot Air Force Base. - A maintenance site on the airfield at Eglin Air Force Base. - Alumni Hall at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis. - And the off-base housing complexes at nearly every single military base in the United States. Of course, these data points only encompass the GPS coordinates that were embedded in the metadata of the selfies taken when users created an account on the app, so the data that was leaked is merely a snapshot of wherever a person was when they registered an account. Most of the GPS points presented in this data were very precise, pinpointing users within a diameter of 36ft or so on average. GPS errors are also likely to throw off this dataset, so it's probable that quite a few data points are inaccurate. However, most of the data (as leaked) is good enough for nationstate-level malign actors to have a field day when it comes to espionage. A person who is unhappy with the person they are in a relationship with, who is also willing to submit their full legal name and street address (or GPS location) makes for a prime espionage target when this data is cross-referenced with other data. It takes exactly two clicks to import the leaked data to a map, and overlay that map with known sensitive military sites around the nation...perhaps in the process finding a few new locations as well. It is also easy to cross-reference this data with property ownership documents to find out how many people took a selfie at a different address than listed on their driver's license...or on their spouse's voter registration records. In short, what seems to be at face value a rather superfluous data breach on a gossip app, may end up having serious national security concerns now that malign actors know the exact GPS location of tens of thousands of potential blackmail targets. Regardless of how this scandal started, the intelligence agencies of dozens of nations are probably crawling through this data set right now, looking for potential vulnerabilities. Furthermore, certain areas within the dataset appear to have been geofenced...there is not a single reported user's data in the entire district of Washington D.C. or all of lower Manhattan. While this is completely speculative at this time, if this app was designed as a honeypot trap from the ground up (for espionage purposes), it's possible that certain areas of the US would be geofenced, to prevent certain powerful people (or politicians) from being caught up in the operation. Once again, this is purely speculative, but it is interesting that some of the most densely populated cities in the US had absolutely zero reported users register. In the world of espionage, one might think that politicians would be a primary target for situations like this, but this is unlikely in this case. Politicians are often compromised by men in dark suits, not normally a cheap app that allows one to gossip about other people. Their spouses however, are a different story. The prime target for these types of operations (if this is indeed more of an espionage attempt) are exactly the people who were targeted...low-to-mid level employees (and their spouses) who would be more easily blackmailed with the type of information that they submitted to the app. What will come of this is anyone's guess, but beyond the obvious embarrassment angle of this situation (and this affair highlighting actual affairs), the national security risks via blackmail are probably extremely high. What makes this risk unique is that for now, most people are focusing on the socially embarrassing side of this scandal, and not the security risks that are present. As such, when this story is dropped like a hot potato from the news cycle in a few days, that moment is precisely when national-level assets are likely to attempt to exploit the tens of thousands of targets that have now been exposed. Last week, in our in-depth report raising national security concerns about the questionable selection of Chief Parhar—prior to our discovery that he had served as chair—Minister Ellis’s press secretary stated that the process was “independently led by the Independent Agency Police Service Oversight Board and adhered to established public sector protocols for executive-level appointments.” This revelation shatters the credibility of that statement and raises serious questions about integrity, transparency, and accountability at every level of Danielle Smith’s government. If this is what “established public sector protocols” look like, Albertans deserve to know how many other appointments are built on the same foundation of conflict of interest. Chief Parhar, Premier Smith, and Minister Ellis have not responded to our media inquiry, leaving unanswered whether U.S. security agencies were consulted about this appointment—an especially pressing question given Alberta’s shared border with Montana and the persistent threat of transnational crime, including fentanyl trafficking.
