1. You call an ambulance - they can provide medicine and oxygen immediately. 2. You pull over and explain the situation - the cop would be able to see the woman and see symptoms, and could then escort you to the hospital. That would save a lot of time and be a lot less dangerous than what you did. 3. You call 911 explain what car you're driving, license plate, and that you are emergently driving your mom to the hospital for a stroke - dispatch can then notify the cop - especially if the man in the back seat calls saying "we are in a medical emergency but are being pursued by a cop - can you please tell the cop what's going on"

Someone in the car should have called 911 and explain why they are not pulling over. This happened to me when my water broke and I was having heavy contractions 2 days before a scheduled c-section. I could not deliver naturally due to my baby having a birth defect and natural birth would have killed her. I had to go to university hospital an hour away for high risk delivery and no ambulance would have taken me there. My husband was speeding to get me there. Cops put lights on us so my husband called 911 and explained the situation, dispatch relayed the information to the cop and the cop sped ahead of us and we were told by dispatch he was giving us a police escort to the hospital. We made it there safely and she was born via c-section safe and sound. The officer came up to the hospital a few days later on his own time to see how we were doing. In this situation, strokes are time sensitive, stopping to explain waste precious time, so to anyone that finds themselves in this situation, call 911 and explain to the dispatch what is going on so they can inform the police officer.

I’m going to assume anyone on here saying she was wrong just has no medical intelligence. Sometimes in a matter such as this YOU DON’T HAVE ONE MINUTE to spare because every SECOND counts and could be the difference between life and death! For those of you who would say “she should have stopped to explain to the cop” well, you’re not wrong she could have done that. But do you think the cop would have believed her instantly?
