Great comedian. Even when (like in this case) he telegraphed the punch line, he was still funny. The humour being within his portrayals of the various characters. Whenever we got to know one of his shows would be broadcast, it was a must-watch. No excuses.

Dave Allen was incredibly talented and his comedy show was very popular in the 1970s. People in schools and workplaces all over the country repeated his jokes to each other the following day.
