David Bowie inventing the ‘6-7’ meme (2006)

Dude was always ahead of the curve. Legend

he told gilmour he was six or seven when he first saw them. gilmour was born in the same year.

Bowie and Gilmour are two legends. I wish more people from my generation knew and listened to them.

He was talking about George Floyd btw. Not the band. Generational memer.

Bowie and Gilmour in a historic clash at the Royal Albert Hall. Bowie performed "Comfortably Numb" in what became his final UK stage appearance 🎸. 🤔 Fun Fact: Bowie joked he first saw Pink Floyd at 6 or 7 years old. Gilmour shut it down: they’re almost the same age! This sparked their favorite inside joke. Did you know? 🤯

Video clip is from David Gilmour’s concert at the Royal Albert Hall in 2006 where Bowie joined him onstage to sing Comfortably Numb & Arnold Layne. It was also Bowie’s final live performance in the UK before his death in 2016.

fun trivia: Pink Floyd and David Bowie's debut albums both came out in 1967

He did go to meme school

Actually it was invented by Charles Hawtree

Austin Powers did it first. Goldmember came out in 2002.

How I miss him. A voice of reason and humanity

Two legends. Was backstage at Bowies penultimate performance before he passed too

🥹 I miss him badly ♥️

David Bowie, el Raphael inglés

Is Bowie just about the most likeable "star" ever?

“six or seven” really used to be the go to guesstimate for any situation but now it’s been sullied by the internet 😭 gotta switch to “4 or 5” now

He really was from outer space. RIP you Space Prince.

What did you do to Tom Brady now

Where on earth can you randomly find David Bowie bumping into David Gilmore?

👑👑❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Ahead of his time.

Sense of humour 😃

So he'd been listening to them for, what, 40-45 years...

❤️❤️

I love them both so much.

Bro was nearly two decades ahead

They were about the same age, weren't they?
