After David Corenswet and his wife rewatched and talked about the Superman movies, she suggested he write a letter to send with his audition tape, laying out his take on the character.

I swear the Lois Interview got him the “YEAH, HIM!” Because for some reason that scene was my favorite!!! You literally can see the costume on him as hes talking to Lois in that scene.

He knew he had one chance. Rent was due, landlord at the door, lights flickering, and he ATE and left no crumbs.

Yep, just more evidence along with the behind the scenes that David did actually understand the assignment and tried.... and James made him act like an overly emotional man baby. Thanks James.

I actually like this Clark Kent look more than the curly hair they gave him in the film. Maybe just part the hair the other way like Reeve did.

Wow. Just… such wasted potential. He got it. Even w/ the terrible idea of Superman bailing out of being asked a tough question, he actually made it seem like a calm, reasoned, man deciding nothing good was going to come from going down that road, instead of a man-child screaming

That transition from Clark to Superman is everything. Probably what bagged him the role. 😂

Well he is not the best superman

He was the best part of the film. Unfortunately, I didn't feel like the film focused on Clark nearly enough, especially for an introduction to the character. I wanted more time on Superman himself, but also a little more insight time with Clark to really let David settle into the role. The movie felt too pre-occupied with setting up other characters and storylines, rather than spending that time on Superman's story. Felt more like a sequel to an introductory film we didn't get to see. But David was genuinely good and I'm interested to see him continue to portray the character with a genuine warmth that he conveyed effectively.
