David is finally back in school after almost five years away from the classroom. This is a favoured boy, and I am so glad we did not give up on him. Since 2021, life kept moving, other children kept learning, and David was instead made to work on farms...

Under @FTFGhana’s Student Training and Education Project (STEP), we do not believe that every child needs the same kind of help. We try to understand the actual problem standing in each child’s way and then go far and beyond to respond to that need, whether it is education, welfare, safety, mentorship, family support, learning recovery, or simply having someone who refuses to stop showing up. If you would like to support David or any of our other beneficiaries on their journeys, you can make a donation via our organisation’s MoMo or bank details below. God bless you as you support. 🙏🏽

Almost five years ago, one of our bright beneficiaries, David, lost his mother after she travelled to the Upper East Region to seek medical treatment. He became an orphan. In the midst of that tragedy, he left Accra and disappeared from our scholarship programme. We did everything we could to bring him back. We had even identified a loving family that was ready to take him in so he could continue his education through our Student Training and Education Programme (STEP), but his family was not ready to let him return. We never gave up. In 2024, we heard that David had returned to Accra, so we travelled to Kasoa to look for him. We were relieved to find him, but his family was not forthcoming, making it difficult for us to stay in touch. Sadly, by the time we returned, he had been taken back to the Upper East Region. Then, just recently, we received the phone call we had been praying for. One of David’s cousins had brought him back after learning that he was being mistreated. At just 13 years old, David had been out of school for years and was being made to work on farms instead. Today, David is finally back. He may be behind in school, but he is not behind in potential. We are determined to help him catch up, heal, and build the future he deserves. As we prepare to support David’s return to school, he will need school fees, uniforms, books, stationery, personal items, counselling, and the care every child deserves to thrive. If David’s story has touched your heart and you would like to help him, we’d be very grateful for your support. Every contribution will go towards helping him rebuild his life and continue his education. Because every child deserves a chance. And at For The Future Ghana, we refuse to give up on children who need our help the most. If you’d like to support David, please send me a DM. 🙏🏽

Meet Charles Mutiso, a Grade 3 pupil at Njiru Primary School. Charles is a child who should be sitting in a classroom, holding a pencil, learning how to write his future. Instead, he is walking from market to market, alone. Charles is suffering from a severe skin disease that has painfully deformed parts of his body. Out of fear that the condition might be contagious, teachers sent him home. Since then, no one has followed up. No doctor. No treatment. No return to school. Just silence. His parents are divorced. His mother, Veronica Akinyi, struggles on her own. His father is absent. With no stable care, Charles now spends his days roaming the streets sometimes playing, sometimes collecting plastics. Imagine a child in pain slowly getting used to that pain. Imagine a child who still wants to be in school, but poverty and neglect have locked him out. This is not just a sad story. This is a child slowly disappearing in plain sight. Charles needs urgent help: • Medical treatment at Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital • A school uniform • Shoes • A school bag and books • Support so he can return to school on Monday This is more than charity. This is a rescue mission for a child’s future. If we act now, Charles can receive treatment and walk back into school with dignity. If we ignore this moment, another bright child will quietly be lost to the streets. Let us not allow that. If you can help in any way please come through. Support Charles Mutiso: Paybill: 303030 Account: 2052935582 If you are able to assist with medical care, school supplies, or direct support, please reach out. Let us show this child that the world has not abandoned him. Let us bring Charles back to school. Let us bring Charles back to life.

MNAKUMBUKA KABUDA? Last week, I met this young man who had recently turned 13. Some of you may remember him from a video that went viral a while back, where he and other boys were seen blocking the road and asking motorists for money. When his friends ran away, Kabuda was arrested and later released. When I spoke to him, he told me that they were not trying to harass anyone. According to him, they were simply pleading with good Samaritans for food and a little money to take home. I bought him some shopping, but I also wanted to understand his situation better. I told him I would like to meet his mother so I could find out why he was not in school. When I met his mother, I learned that he had dropped out of school after being sent home over school fees. Their father had passed away, leaving their mother struggling to provide for a family of eight. The mother is currently jobless, and because the family has very little, Kabuda had started going out to look for something to bring home. A 13-year-old should be in school learning, playing with other children and dreaming about his future not worrying about where the next meal will come from. I felt for this family, and I promised Kabuda that I would do whatever I could to help him get back to school. Today, I kept my word. I took Kabuda to Dagoretti Muslim Comprehensive Primary School. He will now be back in school, and I will continue supporting him as he moves forward with his education. This is more than just taking a child back to school. It is about giving him another chance. But there is still a bigger challenge at home. His mother is jobless and has eight children to take care of. If you know of any genuine job opportunity for Kabuda's mother, please reach out to me or directly to her through her phone number 0742208620 Any opportunity that can help her earn a decent living and support her children would go a long way. Sometimes, all a child needs is someone to believe in them and give them a chance.

Last night in Kawangware, I met this man whom I initially thought was a security guard. After speaking with him, I later came to learn that he is a Nigerian national currently living on the streets. Whenever I meet someone living on the streets, I always take time to engage with them, understand their story, and learn how they ended up there. My goal is always to see how best I can help them rebuild their lives. During our conversation, he shared that he came to Kenya after receiving a promise of sponsorship from his cousin to continue his education here. However, after only two weeks in the country, his cousin who had promised to support him left for the United States without enrolling him in school, leaving him stranded in Kenya. As we continued talking, he explained how he struggled to survive and eventually ended up living on the streets. He has now been on the streets for about two years. In one of the videos I recorded, a lady reached out to me and said she recognized him. According to her, they once lived in the same apartment building. She narrated how the man had been in a relationship with a lady who allegedly took everything he owned. This incident deeply affected him, pushing him into depression and eventually to the streets. The man also shared that at one point he worked in Dubai, where he used to send money back home to support his parents in Nigeria. However, when he later returned home, he claims he discovered that he had been deceived by the very people he trusted. He gave me his parents’ contact, although we were not able to fully hear their side of the story. Currently, his travel documents have expired, and he expressed that his biggest wish is to renew them so that he can return home to Nigeria and start life again. I offered to use my platform to help fundraise for the renewal of his documents, as he personally requested. He also asked if I could help him secure any form of work so that he could at least sustain himself as he waits to regularize his documents. However, after spending time with him and assessing his situation, it became clear to me that he urgently needs mental health support, as he appears to be struggling with depression. I therefore decided that the following morning I would take him to a private rehabilitation center where professionals could assess him and offer the help he needs. After we agreed on this plan, I took him to a hotel where he could spend the night safely. I paid for his room and food, intending to pick him up the following morning and take him for rehabilitation. Unfortunately, later in the morning I received a call from the hotel attendant informing me that although the man had slept well, he left the guest house very early in a hurry. Later reports indicated that he had been seen back on the streets. Since then, efforts to locate and rescue him have not been successful. I am informed that he rarely accepts help from people, which makes the situation even more challenging. If anyone happens to see or locate him, please kindly contact me through +254707946783 so that we can assist him, take him for rehabilitation, and help facilitate his return to his home country. I am also appealing to his fellow Nigerians living in Kenya, those back in Nigeria, and well-wishers both in Kenya and abroad come through for him and support the effort to give this man a second chance in life. Sometimes, all someone needs is a small opportunity and a caring community to stand with them. Let us help him find his way back home.

Back-to-school means something different this year in Gaza. After years of disruption, displacement, fear, and destroyed classrooms, we are so proud to support children in their efforts to focus, learn, and be given the opportunity to be students again. Donate now: On September 21, The Sameer Project supported the opening of Al-Majd Educational School in Deir Al-Balah by providing stationery sets for 100 students. Each child received notebooks, pencils, erasers, sharpeners, drawing supplies, felt-tip pens, colored pencils, and other essentials needed to begin the school year. It was 100 stationery sets, 100 excited students, and totaled $626 after 11% commission fees to get money into Gaza. For a child in Gaza, having a notebook to write in, pencils to learn with, and a classroom to return to can represent routine, purpose, dignity, and hope - the genocide is ongoing but life tries to continue on, in simple ways like the opportunity to learn. We are proud of every child who continues to show up, learn, dream, and work toward their future. And we are grateful that your support gives us the opportunity to stand beside them. Continue to give to our General Fund, and UK donors please contribute to our JustGiving page so we can receive gift aid: Thank you for being a part of these children’s education. Other ways to donate include: (Paypal option, please make sure to add a message saying "GENERAL") (Venmo option, please make sure to add a message saying "GENERAL")
