If Dutton wants to sack 41,000 public servants in a city of 456,000 people that would equal more than 10% of the workforce and 60% of the public service. This would devastate the economy and public service of Canberra. It makes as much sense as Trump’s tariffs. #election2025

Using Dutton’s own words, it is reasonable to conclude that he believes public servants in Canberra are outrageously inefficient and expendable, whilst all other public servants outside of Canberra are efficiently doing unexpendable work.

Public servants across the country have no freedom of expression in politics, federal, state and local, yet the executive branch can say what they want and attack those very same public servants without recourse! Both major parties have mandated and enforced this.

How much did we grow the public service by? Did it get any better? 😂

Who does Dutton think will actually keep the government programs running if he sacks more than 60% of the workforce? Private contractors will be useless doing government work and cost billions - like the last time the Libs sacked public servants and replaced them.

Canberra needs to attract manufacturing and business investors so the public service isn't the only industry @DavidPocock

i think the part of this that Dutton is leaving out is that these jobs hes cutting arent going anywhere. They will get picked up by the consulting firms and talent goes from the APS to private companies for a much larger cost to the taxpayer.

I think it's important also whenever this idea of slashing public servants is 2 things happen - services for citizens suffer and they privatise those roles, often at a greater expense. It's just more jobs for mates shit which the public are sick of
