Ever heard of "red sprites" in a thunderstorm? Sprites are large-scale electrical discharges that occur high above thunderstorm clouds (cumulonimbus), producing a varied range of visual shapes flickering in the night sky. They are triggered by positive lightning discharges between the thundercloud and the ground.

Overflight time again. This time in bad weather: low light, low clouds, wind, and rain. We got what we could and hopefully have a reasonable overview of the situation. Hopefully better weather and better data soon.

The Twin Towers in the clouds. At more than 1,360 feet tall, the upper floors regularly disappeared into low cloud and fog. On clear days, the view from the South Tower observation deck stretched roughly 45 miles. And the weather actually moved the buildings. In strong winds, the towers could sway nearly a foot from side to side. Seeing them rise through the clouds really puts their size into perspective.

I did my own comparison. It's not Gorgon Stare, but it is a drone from above looking at Cumulus clouds. They key is that the clouds are not moving in the newly released video. The water and clouds look identical to the MH370 Gorgon Stare video. How could someone have made a video in 2014 with this level of accuracy?

Nature is beautiful but deadly. Lori Clark captured a stunning stovepipe tornado just north of her home in Rensselaer/Wheatfield, Indiana, illuminated by relentless lightning. Night tornadoes are nearly invisible and extremely dangerous. I hope everyone in that community is safe🙏🏼❤️ #indiana #inwx #tornado
