David Tepper explained what actually builds your career in the markets. and it's definitely not a perfect track record talking to students, he was straight up: your success just depends on how you bounce back from taking a hit "if i go through my career, it was a lot of disappointments. there's a lot of things that didn't go right. but that's not what's gonna define you. what's gonna define you is how you recover from those things and how you move on. you just never stop." another solid lesson from Tepper is about staying true to yourself. when he was at Goldman Sachs, the head of M&A told him to buy a stock that was on the firm's restricted list. Tepper just flat out refused to do the trade. because of that, the guy killed Tepper's chance of making partner later on. but he has zero regrets: if someone tells you to do something sketchy, just don't do it, even if it hurts your career the takeaway: the markets will inevitably punch you in the face. the key is not to get stuck, learn from it, and keep moving forward bookmark and watch the full talk here

Not many people will tell you about the problem of sleeping on the left side so I will tell you... The problem with sleeping on the LEFT side is that the liver is located in the upper quadrant, when you sleep on the left for 6-7 hours, due to gravity, the liver can actually COMPRESS the heart - which you don't want happening Solution? Before you go to bed, obviously don't sleep on your stomach but rather SLEEP ON THE RIGHT! Watch this short and simple video below to explain why you shouldn't sleep on the left or sleep on your stomach but rather why you should ALWAYS sleep on your right - watch it 10 times if you need to:

back in the day this whole scene took around 10hr total of work for all involved. and at one point i added a “button” you could trigger. i had started working on a opening in the wall that would enter a vent maze. and soon realized. nevermind. this was already enough of a derailment to development. and didn’t bother working on it and just left this sequence as is on its own.

Threadguy reveals the real reason Waymo is going to take over the world "The real value of Waymo is not that it's cheaper. It's that you get in a Waymo and you don't have to talk to anybody. That is why Waymo is gonna take over the world and flip Uber. Nobody actually cares about the 10% discount or saving a little bit of money on gas." "They just don't want to talk to the guy who drives the Uber. And requesting a silent Uber is just a weird thing to do, you're like an asshole if you do that. I would rather walk than request a silent Uber honestly."

Rep Tim Burchett makes skateboards in his free time He was told by ethics if he wanted to sell any of them he would need to hire an attorney, but insider trading and making 600% on trades is fine This is real and actually what he was told “If you're making 600% on your returns, you ought to go to Wall Street and get out of Congress” “I make skateboards and I gave one to Tulsi Gabbard. Now, everybody all over the country wants one. I go talk to ethics about... 'Cause I'm a capitalist. I thought dad gum, I'll sell a few skateboards. I don't sleep at night so from, from midnight to 4:00AM in the morning I work on 'em. And, I go to ethics and they're like, "Oh, you got to do this, you got to do that." So you're telling me if I want to sell skateboards, I got to hire an attorney. But if I want to do insider stock trading, go to Congress. And that is exactly what's going on. Both parties are involved in it”

Andrei Tarkovsky's own comments about Mirror (1975) reflects how special this film was for him: "As I began work on Mirror, I found myself reflecting more and more that if you are serious about your work, then a film is not the next item in your career, it is an action which will affect the whole of your life. For I had made up my mind that in this film, for the first time, I would use the means of cinema to talk of all that was most precious to me, and do so directly, without playing any kinds of tricks."

British politics used to work on the basis that one side would make an argument and the other side would agree or disagree with the argument on the basis of its merits. Now too often the game is to sow distrust. That game is bad for democracy but worse – it fails you.

Bam Adebayo GOES IN on the critics that says his 83 point game performance is unethical: "For the couch coaches, I mean, if you're in my shoes and you have, first of all, y'all are blaming me. You should be blaming the head coach. Get that first. I was not the one letting me go one-on-one the whole game until I had 70, and then you started to send a double. At that point, I got 70 with, like, what? nine minutes left to go in the game you think i'm not going for it like like and that's the thing that's crazy when they talk about the unethical part of the basketball i'm like if i have 70 points with 9 minutes to go Who would just be like, you know, coach, just take me out. Yeah, right. Anybody in my shoes with nine minutes left? Okay. A minute? All right. Nine? Yeah, I'm going for it. You can't be mad at that. If you are mad, I don't care because a lot of people, they're upset because if they did play, they never had a chance to get that close to chasing greatness. And then if you get that close to chasing greatness, that's the point of chasing it so you can surpass it. And some of the people have never played basketball. So like if you've been in the backyard and you and a couple of your homies have been playing 21 and you got 19. You're not going to get an easy look off. And four, they're going to talk about the free throws. It's not like I shoot 15 free throws a game. It's not like I average 10 free throws a game. You can watch the film. I was legitimately getting fouled every time. So I went to the free throw line."

HOWARD MARKS ON THE MOST EXPENSIVE LESSON OF SELLING TOO EARLY: "Amazon was $90 in 1999. When the tech bubble burst, it went to $6. It was down 93%." "What if you were smart enough to buy it at $6? Would you have held to $12? What about $60? You've made 10 times your money, would you sell?" "What about when it got to $600? You made 100 times your money. Most people would sell." "At the time I wrote it, Amazon was $3,300. If you sold at $600, you left 85% of the money on the table." "Buffett says he made all his money on 12 ideas. Charlie Munger said he made all his money on 4. The big mistake is getting off too soon."

Stephen A. You don't even have to do anything else. Whatever the other side feels, you feel the opposite. That's not work.”

During the 2008 crisis, Warren Buffett put $5B into Goldman Sachs on basically a handshake. Lloyd offered to first walk him through everything he was worried about. Buffett: "Lloyd, I know you well enough to know you worry enough for the both of us. I'm taking my grandkid to Dairy Queen, just figure out where to send the money." He asked for one thing in return, no contract: don't sell your shares until I sell mine.

David Tepper on why you never fight the money printer: "i don't love the us markets on a value standpoint, but i sure as heck won't be short... you can't be short anything." most guys love to play the hero. they see a chart that looks overbought, read some doom threads, and step right in front of a moving train just to prove they are smart they will sit there in a massive underwater short, paying heavy fees, while central banks literally print cash and hand it to buyers Tepper built his track record on knowing when to step aside. he knows that when governments push easy money into the system, you do not overthink the valuations when the liquidity taps turn on, you do not stand in the way. you either buy the cheapest assets on the board, or you just stay out stop trying to short a market that is floating on free cash. do not fight the fed bookmark and watch the archive here

I feel quite strongly about this: You cannot do what Strickland did and say the insane and vile things he said in the buildup to that fight, then tell us seconds after the fight is over, “I was just trying to sell the fight.” If you’re going to take us on that ride, you have to take us on that ride until the very end. That was the biggest bunch of bullshit I’ve ever heard. That is fraudulent. You cannot just walk back all the crazy things you said. I have nothing against Sean. I like Sean. But that was extremely disappointing.
