When he says “it hurts my feelings” it sounds a bit too corny imo and I'm glad they took it out. The final take in the film felt way more impactful.

the delivery on everything else too, you can tell david just wasn't in it

Yeah and I’m glad that he challenged Gunn critically and made sure his thoughts were heard.

he has every right, it's Gunn's movie but David did his homework and is passionate about about it. and even is why they have trunks now, and Gunn knows that which is why he had a back and forth most directors would say shut up and say my lines with 0 patience for that

That’s what I think the problem is with most directors: they aren’t really open to criticism or a change in ideas. They really just want to stick to the screenplay that they have. It’s great to see David and Gunn engage in constructive criticism.

the actual take we got on the film is sooo much better than this one

I'm glad the director was willing to listen. I remember when Mark Hamill tried to raise his concern to Abrams or Johnson, and they essentially told him, "Stfu, and get back to work meat puppet."

I don't get that and ever will, its the most collaborative form of art in the world. You'd just be directing robots and yes man, that's how you get complacent and your projects become dull. Corenswet, here has every right as he did his homework and is passionate. Also a filmmaker too, so. Gunn has always accepted feedback though, so glad it still shows.

Not what David was saying. He felt like Clark should be sure of himself and not trying to prove it to Lex that he isn’t just alien

yeah by not saying that line, lol

Tom Holland wouldnt be able to communicate this information

Maybe now cuz he worked with Nolan , Jon Watts is ass

James cut it. Not David. James wants to see what works and what doesn’t.

He’s asking for direction, James gave him direction and David walked away.

he's openly disagreeing with the initial line and explaining why he doesn't understand it and disagrees with james's reasoning lol , there's nothing wrong with that. that's collaborative art

Yeah, I’m not trying to be a stinker. Much love for all the positivity.

genuinely horrible line, glad they had the sense to cut it out

So confused, David wasn’t trying to get the lines changed, but just the tone they were said changed. The actual lines itself weren’t part of their discussion.

no one is “right” here. they arent arguing david is conveying how hes feeling in the moment and he doesn’t think it’s fits the scene and he goes to the director for help and to reach a better understanding they talk about it and gunn is able to explain better and david gets it

The “that’s being human” delivery was so bad right here😭😭

my one fault with this movie is how tell and not show it is. every word out of lex or his teams mouth is purely to catch us up to the world, rather than them showing it.

Bro i can really see the scenes that cut down were really really corny.

They painted in Superman's empathy a little thick. I understand that they were trying to signal to the audience the grumpy Superman of the Snyderverse is gone, but they snapped back too hard in the opposite direction. I heard both laughter and groans when Superman saved that squirrel. A monster is attacking Metropolis and he saves a squirrel. Just made him look incompetent.

i think him saying his feelings are hurt actually really works and makes the scene better

This dialogue is terrible. I’m happy for people who love this movie but I got nothing from watching it.

Good lord it was always bad lol atrocious writing

I think some of you guys gotta watch the whole thing

Imagine the field day Snyder fan boys would have if this ended up in the final cut

James respects David’s pov as an actor because David is from Juilliard - a very prestigious drama school

@viktorjudah

thank god they cut that one line

yeah that was good to be removed

It’s Gunn’s script, he probably had many takes for lots of scenes in the movie. David didn’t change what Gunn wanted from the scene.

Cavill would never*

The monologue was very John Cena lol

David knew the line sounded like it was written by chatgpt so he knew he had to change it

To be honest, I kinda like what the line implied in a way. I just wish it was worded differently and kept in somehow. I don't know how I'd do it but I like the idea of it even if the line itself isnt the best

Also, maybe the line was never MEANT to be in the movie. Sometimes what we say informs the way we say it. By saying “you hurt my feelings”, it probably helps convey the emotion. I dunno.

😂😂😂 “David is correct” - some guy on Twitter

Geeks me out seeing the process of this, id love more movies to do the same and see the conversations between director/writer/actor

agreed, that line is too much for Superman. The final take is awesome, tho. 😌 And David Corenswet is so brave.
