The harsh reality of being sober: Is this the end of fun? I don’t think so. But it’s going to take me a while to figure out how to be sober in a party and festival world where I’ve spent most of my life getting after it. My sober break was just gonna be November. Then December. Then just until Friendship Cruise. But as it got closer, something shifted. I realized I didn’t need a break. I needed to actually heal. So now my goal is all of 2026 sober. For most of my adult life, I’ve used alcohol and substances to push the vibe, push myself, and push the party. I don’t think I’m an addict, but years of partying has messed with my memory and focus, and that scares me. This is the most important year of my life. I’m going to heal my mind, release more music than ever, show up online like I actually give a shit, build community in new ways, get strong and healthy, and be the best dad and husband I can be. It’s gonna be hard as fuck, but I know it’ll be worth it ✌️💗

Its not often Im lost for words, but last night this stopped me in my tracks. Just over 3 years ago my content changed alot when I went sober and I got a lot of stick for my shift in direction. After spending years trying to get back to doing comedy, to suddenly change was terrifying. But, my social media, my characters, my jokes and my content has always been in some way a reflection of my life and my life became a battle for change, I embarked on the most difficult journey of my life, its still a constant struggle, but talking about what drink & drugs were doing to my mental health and my family helped me understand and share what I was going through. Through that process Ive lost friends and family, followers, brand deals, business and I get constant criticism and negative comments when I discuss certain things, it can be triggering and to be honest a bit annoying im sure. But, there is a core group of you that have stuck with me for the comedy and let me talk about mental health, sobriety and the darkness some of us face, and a few of you that are here for the sobriety stuff but put up with my jokes along the way, to all of you thank you…. But.. Every now and then I see a comment, or a message, or at one of my live show’s someone says something like “You saved my life” and it hits me, its worth sharing, its worth the shame, embarrassment and comments, its all been worth it, because every now and then it really helps someone feel like they aren’t alone. And can change. Thank you mate, thank you for telling me that. I needed to hear it. x

Jon Rahm on the LIV format: “Yeah, obviously there’s been a bit of a change. There was a lot more about LIV Golf that was attractive to me, right. Yeah, maybe the format was a set back in the past, but at the same time there’s a lot of positives to it as well. And one of the things that a lot of players kept mentioning is you don’t have a wave weather difference, where you can simply get unlucky and you’re out of contention for that tournament. It’s part of the game, I get it, but it’s something you don’t have to deal with anymore. So that part is a very nice aspect. The team is what really made it for me. Being able to be part of a team, represent a team, play for my teammates, with my teammates and against my teammates, is something that to me that has always been very, very special. When you get a victory to share, it’s always better to have a team to share it with. So it’s what was the most attractive part and when we started discussions it gets to a point where even though I’m ambitious, I’m not greedy. So there’s a give and take and the format is something that I can easily overlook, and I’m pretty sure I can learn to enjoy it, I’ll just have to get used to it, but I’m pretty sure I’ll learn to enjoy it. To be honest, the more I started thinking about it, the more I started thinking about my college days that were 3 day tournaments, 54 holes, and everybody warmed up together for the most part. carlos shared a lot of hints about his upcoming ‘team fiftyfive’ project when asked about making f1 more accessible to fans: “i always try and build a community of fans around me. this year i'm starting a new project actually that we're going to be launching in the next few months that people are already starting to get excited for, which is going to be basically growing a brand and a community for people to join along the way. “one thing that i've realized is that people don't only follow me as an individual, as an athlete, they also follow my team and when i talk about my team, i talk about my manager, my coach, my driver coach, my dad, and they see us as a team. in social media, they call us, and i call us, team fiftyfive. it's a group of people that we travel around the world, being part of an f1 team, trying to have fun, trying to enjoy ourselves, but trying to win. and i realize that a lot of our fans, i want them to be part of team fifityfive. i want to make them feel like they are part of that community, that very small community that is a core of five people, but to expand it, to make sure whenever you come to my grandstand in madrid, whenever you come to my grandstand in barcelona, whenever you come to film a youtube video with us, you feel part of that community and for that i'm gonna create something that i cannot reveal now exactly all the details as i said, but that i feel like people have been waiting for for a long time, and i'm gonna approach it a bit in a different manner than what you commonly see with athletes, i'm gonna try something a bit different, but i hope people enjoy it and they appreciate the effort that my team has put together to create this community.”
