Butler's Samu Adler is having a strong last 10 games for Salon Vilpas in Korisliiga play The 6-6 18 year old is averaging 18 PPG, 2.6 RPG and 3.3 APG in that stretch shooting 44.2% from the field Adler's blend of shot making, size and physicality at the guard spot is really impressive and should make for productive HM player right off the jump, needs to add a left to his game and work on the shot selection but lot's to work with. Really enjoyed his progress over his last 2 seasons.

Let me state up front that these two plays were NOT the reason St. John's lost yesterday. And I am a numbers guy so no need to tell me about our shooting stats in the game. But I need to vent. We knew Arkansas over their prior 8 games was making a concerted effort to get to the free throw line - they averaged 26.5 free throws over this 8 game period. In the 10 games prior to this 8 game period, Arkansas averaged 19.3 free throws attempts per game - right in line with D1 average per game. The coaching staff gave a clear direction to our players prior to the game - wall up with your hands in the air and maintain verticality. I am including two clips here of just that in which the Arkansas player initiated contact, Zuby and Kadary went straight up with their hands in the air, and Arkansas was rewarded with two trips to the free throw line. In the first clip, St. John's had a 4 point lead with 2 minutes to go in the first half with momentum as Arkansas hadn't made a field goal in 3 minutes. Zuby does exactly what he was instructed when Boogie Fland initiated contact and the baseline ref who is 6 feet away from the action does not blow his whistle, but another ref does award Boogie Fland two free throws. That started a 7-0 run for Arkansas and they went into the half with a 3 point lead. I can't provide enough words on the second clip on just how unjust it was to have a late whistle call on Kadary going straight up in the air and getting his fifth foul called on him with 6:28 to play. Kadary was limited to just 16 minutes of play in the entire game because of foul trouble. And as a reminder, I will end this post with how I started it. Coaches: I understand most rosters are set for next season. However, I've spoken to a number of people who have spots available, but are holding out for a specific position. Next week is August. In my opinion if you have a scholarship to give, now is the time to take the "best available player". Former Panola Basketball point guard Christian Henry (Showtimechris) was granted an injunction allowing for a fifth-year. He finished his career at Panola averaging 14.3 ppg and 4.7 apg, while leading a 26-7 team to an appearance at Hutch - where he was one of the standout players of the NJCAA Tournament. He then moved onto Eastern Michigan where he averaged 14.7 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.4 assists; while shooting 37% from 3-point range before transferring to Fordham last season. At Fordham, he suffered a mid-season injury. But still finished the season making 30 appearances with 23 starts while averaging 10.7 ppg, 3.4 rpg and 5.1 apg. His assists/game (#2) and assist-to-turnover ratio (#8) were among the best in the Atlantic 10. There are no red flags here. He would be an immediate upgrade to any LM-MM program. Note: I apologize. I have no Fordham highlights.

With all due respect, 2005-2006 Kobe is the best player I have ever seen (Didn’t see Jordan’s young prime live). The Lakers wasted Kobe’s best years and he still got 2 more RINGS post-Shaq. 35PPG on mostly Jump Shots AND 1ST TEAM ALL DEFENSE. The biggest threat from all 3 levels of the floor of all time. Watch these highlights. All bottoms of the net this is crazy. Kobe was still in his young athletic prime and the game came easy to him. And his skill this year peaked at an all time high which the league has never seen in its history considering his threat from 3Pt range. Just insane offensive production. A machine. You have to be totally locked in to move like this. No one can “decide to do this”. Held two D1 offers—North Florida and Campbell.
