Covington County, Mississippi Deputy Rodney was shot in the line of duty on June 8th. The bullet went through his back left shoulder, lodged under his right clavicle, and struck his spinal cord at C3-C4. From his hospital bed at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta, he looks straight into the camera and says it’s an incomplete tear, so he does believe he’ll walk again — although it will take a miracle. Had the exact same shot on the same hole 20 minutes prior and dumped it in the bunker. Given what was on the line, along with all the demons he was fighting that day, I think this one’s probably the most clutch of Rory’s career.

This hurts to watch: A grieving father is burying his 16-year-old son and choosing the path of Jesus over bitterness. Last week in Harrison, Arkansas, Brayden Anderson was with friends when a gun accidentally discharged in another teenager’s hands. Brayden was struck and k*lled. That young man now faces a negligent h*micide charge. Tomorrow Brayden will be laid to rest. His father, Aaron, has invited everyone: the community, the first responders, and every teenager who was in the room that day. He has made it clear there will be no hatred and no pointing fingers. In a raw video, Aaron said, “Two lives were destroyed that day… We still have a chance to save one.” He is focused on the boy who will carry this weight for the rest of his life. How did no one see him scouting the rooftops? How did he know Charlie would be setup in a location that he would give him a clear line of sight? If you handed him a $700,000 house, he would sell it for 600 that same day, take the 600, and buy 2.4 million dollars in real estate that pays itself off over 30 years. Lot of numbers. But let's get clear on the original offer. The offer was $700,000 to buy a house. Selling it for 600 the same day is a $100,000 loss for no reason. Here is what I would do instead. Buy the house for 700. Then put debt on it, maybe 500 grand through a cash-out refinance, which is tax-free. Now I still own the house. I throw a renter in it. I pulled 500 grand out tax-free. And I use that to lever up and do it again, and again, and again. Same game he is playing. I just keep the house and skip the 100 thousand dollar loss. He has a lot of good points here.
