It is so exceptionally rare that Goku acts this way in Super which is a problem given how often the stakes are high. This scene was a godsend and a breath of fresh air that Goku was finally taking a threat to his loved ones seriously. It is the exception not the norm.

People really can't read theres literally a page in the manga where goku insist that vegeta kills goku black instead of him just fighting him knowing that goku black was planning something

The only issue with super, is the time period it exists in. Because we have a definitive post super with EoZ there wasn't really any stakes in the matter. But also aside from Freeza's return GBlack/Zamasu were the only TRUE villains. Everyone else were just antagonists
