What a dumb take. @dc_mma If a takedown only counts with control, then by that logic, if the opponent escapes, it should not count at all. That would mean only 5 takedowns per fight, one per round, since a fighter would have to control them for 5 full minutes to score a td.

I'm not sure DC understands the rules fully tbh. Doesn't matter how many takedown the stats show. Judges have 0 clue of those stats and go based on the criteria. Damage, Dominance, and Duration.

The scoring is based on activity. Since people consider takedown defense to be its own reward, Merab taking people down while they try to not get taken down score points for him. DC just talking shit to sway people in Umar and Dagestani's favor.
