Suddenly, toxic green smoke erupts from cracks in the floor, burning his eyes, nose, and throat. The poison overwhelms him—he collapses unconscious before he can escape. Both Normand Ranger and Skimmer Tide are showing "Restricted Maneuverability" so it is not clear if both are now involved in the tow. Both are currently holding position 841 nautical miles WNW of Dampier. If they maintain a 1 knot speed of advance, it will take 35 days to make land; at 3 knots it will take 12 days.
